Before we start I'd just like to point out that I am aware that there was no VS Wild Gunman as portrayed in the movie Back to the Future 2 (BTTF2). I'm not claiming this is a VS Wild Gunman, Its a Ninty cab conversion of a Playchoice with a custom control panel and marquee to look like the movie prop in BTTF2. I'm just a big fan of BTTF as well as Wild Gunman. Here's the clip from the movie that I used to reference how to go about recreating this. Sucks it in spanish though.

The movie prop cab in BTTF2 was actually a duel monitor Playchoice cab with only one monitor in it. The game play animation from the movie look like flash animation. I dont know. I didn't see the point of using a tall Nintendo cab for this when a DK style cab would work. I waited a year to find a short style Ninty that was converted to a Playchoice to pop up. Haven't seen one since.

In the youtube video from above at 24 seconds you can see it was Playchoice side art on the cab. At the very beginning of the video too you can see the Wild Gunman (Playchoice) title screen.

An old beat-up VS control panel, begging to be used.

I bought a freshly refurbished gun from klov.com's very own slinkmasterflex. Its wicked pissa guy.

I changed the button layout alittle. Since there's only 1 player games on this cab I figured I'd be hitting the "Start" button alot more than "Select" so I rigged the "Start" button to use the "1".

I already have a dedicated Playchoice loaded with Co-Op games, so this cab is only shooters and one player games. Also this is a hacked version of the Playchoice bios allowing me to add two more shooting games not released on the Playchoice before, Freedom Force and Shooting Range. I didn't say they were good games, just getting more use out of the Light Gun.

Another reason why I think I went with a VS gun holster is because in the movie prop version of this cab the holster was high close to the control panel, the Playchoice's gun holster was far too big to mount there or even below near the coin door.

Regardless of what section it is in, AWESOME job. Looks great! I always hoped someone would take on that project. Thought I was the only one! Very...very nice.

I think the reason they used the two monitor version for the movie prop was so they could rig it up to mount the monitor flat and a little higher. How is the game play with the monitor tilted back like that?

I was watching this on Nick at Nite (I think that's the channel it was on, either that or TV Land) and was shocked they cut out the part where he actually shoots the villains in the game. He picked up the gun, then the kid immediately said the "you mean you have to use your hands? That's like a baby's toy"...

Wow! That is a very nice job. What about the blue cabinet Pac-Man on the opposite end of the diner. Its turned off and has a sign on it that says "Priceless Artifact DO NOT TOUCH" on it. Are you going to be doing one of those as well? Oh wait, I could just look on E-bay and find one. Seriously, though, that is a nice job. I also love the BTTF trilogy. Great movies. Not a big fan of the pinball, though.

Now all you need is the 2 TV screens with Max Headroom versions of the Ayatollah and President Reagan on them :D
