Wii Update Thread

Meh this probably just means they'll soon have a new hack that will allow you to install homebrew and WADs using SD card as well. That would be nice.

Woo hoo SD... not the most exciting of announcements.

And here I thought you'd be updating a DS thread first about the newly announced Zelda DS game.

"We've got Zelda's Link steering a train, instead of his usual aquatic ride. The train has a cannon, like Phantom Hourglass's ship, and it appears to control similarly, with action concentrated on the bottom of the screen. It's a DS title, "tentatively" titled The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks" and it will be available later this year."

Or in this thread, commenting about Arcade games being added to the virtual console:

Anyone else still playing? Hell even I'm not really, but I'm not playing much of anything at the moment.

I did pick up The Conduit recently. Seems okay, but there's no way it'll suck in Halo fans like they expect it to. I haven't checked out multiplayer yet, but I might have to give that a go sometime.

Homebrew is still going strong, but I still haven't updated from 3.2 to 4.0 yet.

I haven't played in a bit. I bought Super Mario Sunshine today (I happen to like it, o.k.!) so at least it will be getting a little use.
Maybe I'll have a little bowling tournament with the kids this weekend.

I got The Conduit and Virtual Tennis 2009 for the Wii today (and Secret Agent Clank for PSP, and Fight Night: Round 4 for 360).

Probably won't get to play any of them for a bit though as my mother-in-law's in town.

I did the recent update to 4.1, but the majority of what the wife and I play is pretty much Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing (original GC version). Everything else is on the shelf collecting dust.

Picked up Wii Sports Resort last night. I wasn't really expecting much from it and thought $50 was a high price to pay, but figured I'd give it a go anyway since I knew my family would play it quite a bit.

Well, I have to admit that it's pretty damn good, all things considered. Not all the games a that great, but there are a few really fun ones. The Island Flyover is pretty neat and I like a ll the extras. Nintendo even included their own take on "achievements" which is nice, although it doesn't really award you much, as far as I know.

Archery is much better here than it was in Mario vs Sonic, which was a nice surprise. Hell, even Frisbee and Wakeboarding are pretty fun.

Biggest downfall? Like most anything else on Wii - No online multiplayer. I just don't understand that.

Wii prices in Redmond are down to $170 new. The girlfriend wants one for her birthday... (i secretly want punch out and redneck jamboree)

Anything new on Wii that anyone is wanting to check out? I really want to get No More Heroes 2, but I never even finished the first one. Got stuck on some bitch of a boss on the beach and haven't picked it for quite some time

I've been playing Excitebike World Rally and Mega Man 10. Glad there are some decent Nintendo downloadable WiiWare games in the thick of a lot of the crap games developers put out.

As far as Wii, I'm still playing New Super Mario Bros. Looking forward to the new Zelda.
