Wii U

I imagine I'll eventually get one, but I'll probably be late the game. I rarely play consoles anymore, so I may just wait for the first round of price drops. Though the next Mario Kart will probably be enough to force me into getting one...hopefully by then I'll be able to find one due to the inevitable "Shortage."

I waited 10 hours in line for the Wii on launch day, but I'm not doing that for this thing :p

I'll get one. I'll be selling some of my console games I don't play to fund this purchase.

Unless it has a blu-ray player, and acts as one kick ass media server I won't ever buy it.

Must be why I have a PS3.

You're seriously lacking then...as neither my 360 or PS3 are anything but pathetic excuses for media players.
I refuse to use systems that require transcoding and stick to the giant FAIL that is DLNA.

I never buy any system at launch, I let the sheep do the beta testing and price subsidizing for me.

I was excited about this for a while, but now I'm going to pass on grabbing one at launch. There aren't many launch games that look interesting to me, and there are waaaay too many great games coming out for PS3 this year.

Maybe I'll get it eventually. The launch games don't seem like absolute must owns, and $300 can buy a lot of Xbox games.

Buy a better Blu-Ray Player for $100 and forget Sony's lame media center feature(it's pretty horrible and could have included versions off all those free linux codecs co). I'll admit I've been using my PS3 more for Netflix than playing games lately but with the Wii TV feature I'll probably just put the darn PS3 in the closet due to the better looking interface on the Wii U.

The only thing I'd miss is the Crunchyroll app and that has alot of bugs still...

I originally thought that I wouldn't get a WiiU, but honestly the Wii has absolutely dominated recreation-time whenever family is over. PS3 gets zero use, and we end up having Mario Kart, New Super Mario, or Smash Bros 'fests, along with the usually obligatory Wii Party/Sports.

Given that the last two Thanksgivings have concluded with heavy Wii usage following large amounts of turkey consumption, it seems that the Wii has created a staple here, and I expect the WiiU to now continue that tradition.

Even if the WiiU is just an upgraded Wii, I really don't see that as a bad thing. The Wii is already great, now just add HD outputs and I will be happy, and so will the rest of the family I'd wager.
