Wii gets no love in my house. What am I missing?

I sold my wii last year around christmas with all 15 games I had with it. I made top dollar for it. If you are planning on selling your Wii do it now.

Yeah... I bought the Wii a couple years back all exited to give it a go...

... it sits. 20+ games and it sits. The wife just HAD TO HAVE Wii Fit... it's been used twice... and just sits. Guitar Heros (Metallica, 3, and Aerosmith)... they just sit. Pinball Collection? Sits. Mario Kart? Sits. That offroad truck game that everyone said was SOOO cool... yup... sits.

Basically the Wii sits... doing nothing... but the wife won't let me sell the piece of shit. Why? I don't have any idea. It does nothing for no one.

Same reason why I really don't want to buy my kids the "Kinect". It may get used for a month and end up like the wii.

I say the same about my wife. She wants the Kinect in the worst way but she said the exact same thing about the wii. I got her that and a week later she wanted the Fit.I bought that and she used it maybe 3 times, I on the other hand used it much more but it got old and I got lazy lol

Even now it may be too late. I hit the pawnshops once a week or so looking for cheap dvd's and they have a stack of them they have'nt been able to sell since june at $80 each. Gamestops are the same way, if you look on their shelves they have tons of them used.

I just bought Epic Mickey a few days ago and I like the game quite a bit! There isn't a whole lot of new ground covered but I love the theme and presentation. Its a fun game.

I've been curious about this one. The original trailer sure mad Mickey look like an asshole, though :p

I'll admit that even I don't play the Wii very much anymore. I play a couple of imports on it every so often and of course play the hell out of most of the first party titles, but that's about it. My Wii collection is pretty substantial (80+ games, I think), but like I said, not much of it gets played anymore, unfortunately.

I have no plans of getting rid of it, though.

wired mag

wired magazine has a great article about Mickey and the orig mickey. 1st year he was a asshole on purpose. smopked cigars pinned minnie for sugar when he wanted..
then it was disneyfied.. I think I like the orig Mickey better.

I've considered buing a Wii recently. I think the shooting games will be cool to play with friends and family when they come over.

If you want shooting games, these are all pretty fun:
Ghost Squad
Link's Crossbow Trainer
House of the Dead 2 & 3
House of the Dead: Overkill
Dead Space Extraction

I think there are also two Resident Evil rail shooters (umbrella chronicles and one other), but I don't own them so I'm not sure how they are.

The resident evil shooters are the best of the bunch - at least the Umbrella Chronicles is. We haven't finished the Darkside Chronicles because it looks terrible on our 46" LCD (we originally played UC on a 36" flat CRT). Game play seemed about the same, so I'm sure it's a good game, but I can tell you for sure that the first one is probably the best rails shooter on Wii.

Its because its made in CHINA.

At your core its impossible for you to enjoy or see any value in Chinese products!!

Now now... Read my sig. It doesnt say anything about consoles from China sucking! LOL! Our 2 Xbox360's get tons of use.

But since you brought it up... I'm on my third 360 (one had a bad DVD drive and the other ended up red ringing). My kid is on his second unit (his RRoD'ed). They really are of poor quality but at least the games and the system are worthy of having power applied to them.

From what I've been told, Younger kids (4-8 year olds) love the wii. Games like Wii Skii and some of the better shovelware. Kids obviously don't have the same refinement as adults, If you have an arcade, kids will flock to the Primal Rage.

The controls aren't an impediment (remember that fine motor skills aren't completed until much later).

I guess it gets to the point where kids pick up a 360 pad and star flailing it around expecting all games to work like that.

Of course - I've used component since launch day. It looks better, yeah, but stretching that picture across a 46" 1920×1080 TV and only sitting about 6 feet back (due to how our living room is laid out), it simply looks terrible. It's a shame, too, cause the game seems to play just fine.

All the Wii games look great on my 46" samsung lcd, but we're probably alot further back then 6 feet when playing. I might be that close when standing and playing Big Brain Academy though.

Samsung 8 series here. Perhaps I'm being too picky? Maybe I'll take a few pics and you guys tell me if I'm just crazy :p. Regardless, there's no doubt that they looked "better" on my 32" CRT using component.

I actually just started playing my Wii again after probably a year. A lot of decent new titles. Here's what I've been dabbling in:

Epic Mickey - A little disappointed in the game play. Though if you love Disney, it's an interesting and likable concept with some great cut scenes.

Kirby's Epic Yarn - Great concept and the game play is fun. Though, like all Kirby games, it's way too easy.

Goldeneye - Pretty much a revamp of the N64 version. It's decent, but still not as good as the original IMO.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 - This is pretty much Super Mario Galaxy 2.0. Almost like an expansion pack. It's awesome nonetheless.

NBA 2K11 - The Wii isn't really known for great sports games, but this is pretty good and features Michael Jordan.

I'm looking forward to the new Zelda more than anything else. And when the 3DS comes out, I think my Wii will get less play yet again. :)

One could argue that (mathematically) 2.0 = 2, but I get what you're trying to say :p
