Okay, while I'll admit that it's probably my fault this thread derailed like it did, let me put another two cents in. oyama82, while I don't agree with piracy in most forms (I'm not so much against emulation and the like for systems/games that are long out of production, but I do not agree with piracy of current generation games), I can understand where you are coming from, living where you do.
However, my main point here and the thing I hope will leave an impression on you, is that you are quoted as saying:
donkey kong country returns is awesome, you have to own it,i play it on dolphin emu non stop.
Why did you have to mention playing it on an emulator? Why was that important to bring up? To me, that looks as if you're proud and/or bragging that you didn't pay for the game. Why couldn't you have just said:
donkey kong country returns is awesome, you have to own it,i play it non stop.
If you had done that, none of this would have happened. You must be aware that many people are against piracy at a moral level and you had to know that you were opening yourself up for a few choice words from people. Not to mention that there are many others on KLOV that are directly in the game industry and make their living making, selling, and/or distributing video games - obviously these people will not take kindly to those who openly admit to and seemingly brag about pirating games.
Anyway, you do what you will - it's not like anyone of us can stop you or change your mind. However, I think it's important to know where you are and who you're talking to and there are people here who will give you shit for stuff like that. It's kind of like how I cuss and swear all the fucking time - but if I'm around my parents, for example, I don't talk like that. They won't like to hear that shit from me, so I keep my mouth shut as I have no business talking like that in front of them anyway.
I don't mean that to sound preachy or anything like that, but I hope it makes sense. I want everyone here to get along, talk games, make good deals, and plain have a good time. But emulation and piracy can be heated subjects around here, so we should try to keep it to a minimum, in my opinion.
Once again, my apologies to the OP.
Let it go back to being on like Donkey Kong™!
