Hey all, I have a nintendo Cab that I've never seen before. I was wheeling it down my yard to go to the shop and noticed that this sucker was way heavier than normal. So when I get it in to the shop I tear off the T-molding and WOW it's friggin partical board and not the normal plywood.

Is this something they came out with later in development or is is something else. It was a DK junior at one point. Anyone else run into this???

That is what everyone refers to as the US version of the cab. It probably has the offset T-molding as well.

Sure now you guys all chime in and tell me this literally 25 minutes after I order some white 5/8" molding for it. HA too funny. I'll have to look and see what you mean tomorrow after work. thanks for the heads up.

T-Molding is cheap.
Just order the right stuff if it becomes available.

If it's particle board I think that means it was a Popeye. They're the only ones I've seen made out of PB w/ 5/8" T-Molding.
But, I'm no expert.

You're totally right it was a Popeye now that I think about it the Dk jr was a different cab I am working on. It was a excitebike and when i took the marquee off i saw the popeye under the exitebike sticker. so that makes sense. Also the trim looked pretty flat to me so i think you're onto something there. thanks.

I am pretty sure some DKJR's were made in the U.S. thus were particle board cabs.

Yea the dreaded offset T-Molding.:p
Audiomidiman is working to have the offset T-Molding reproed.
Here is his thread. http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=146129

I'm trying too. I have 2" of super flat t-molding (like standard FLAT T-molding) but with offset barb. However, all the other samples I have look like standard 5/8" t-molding (curvy and not flat) with offset barb.

So, the project is slightly "on hold" until I find out which is correct.

Is he doing offset black and white, or just the white?

Which machines use 5/8" offset black? After we get tooling done we could do this at this same time.

I have a single monitor playchoice cab that I believe used the offset t-molding, not sure what color was on there originally but I'd like to use black if possible. If I don't sell it first anyway.

R-Type cabs, Dedicated Grey Vs. Cabs, and Dedicated Single Monitor Playchoice cabs.

Check with chips4sale because I thought he stated that he had offset black. If he doesn't and I can get a good sample of offset white I'll be happy to make black happen at the same time.
