Ok here's the story I have a few 60-1 boards and just wired up a cab and got everything going went to the test menu and all is good the trackball and joystick all work perfectly.

Well then I went to test it out in the main game mode and I cant get the trackball to go down and when it goes up it'll automaticlly pull itself down. Also the joystick controls won't function properly in some games. Anyone have any ideas on this. I have a good +5v to the PCB and ball. I've tried another PCB and Trackball and still the same.

All the 60-1 boards I've got were from a unk seller in florida. I'm thinking it's the software on the PCB.
Anyone have any ideas.

1) which version of the 60-in-1 are you using?

2) Are you connecting the trackball to the CON connectors on the board or through the wiring of the JAMMA harness?

3) When testing the trackball in test mode, is the control panel in the same position as when in gameplay?

4) You say that in gameplay, the trackball will slowly go down by itself after you go up, but won't go down on it's own. Does it do this in test mode, i.e. do you see the down being triggered repeatedly?

5) Have you tried swapping the optics connectors on the trackball to see if the problem moves to the left/right (trackball moves up and down) or stays on the up/down (trackball moves left and right)?

6) Which games are not operating properly with the joystick?

7) Are you using a 4-way or 8-way joystick?

That should keep you busy for a bit...

Mode,
using the smaller version of the 60-1
it's all wired up correctly and the ball and joystick work absolutly perfect while in the test menu page but when you get to the games and selection screens the controls are all weird.
didn't try the optic pcb but I did try a new trackball and same thing.

it's gotta be a bad batch of pcb's I have it hooked up to the player 2 controls and have also tried both trackball connections also.

ugghhh

make sure there isnt some software settings that need to be adressed either. Its been a long time since ive had a x-in-one but i seem to remember some software settings for upright, cocntail, 4 way, 8 way, reverse, etc so you might want to make sure thats not your issue before you call a stack of boards "bad"
