Got a centipede cabinet a couple of weeks ago. Played perfectly for a couple of days but now when i turn it on all i get is mushrooms but nothing else. the ship and all of the enemies are invisible, i can shoot and see the shrooms getting hit and even hit the centipede but it does not show up on the monitor. any ideas on what I should look for?

Look at the Motion Object Circuitry. The '163 shift registers at A5 and B5 are suspect.

But, just for grins, flip the test switch and see if you get any beeps. If you do, count them.

I am having the same problem...funny thing is when I slap the side of the cabinet...it gets better...think it is a monitor problem...connections are all tight...

that's awesome...kind of like when an old tv was on the fritz...give it a good slap...need to find a better fix though...........

Did you (or the original poster) ever figure this out? Stating the obvious, but you might try pressing on the boards inside to narrow down the failing connection/joint. A monitor issue wouldn't cause only some of the sprites to appear. Without having studied the Centipede design, I would suspect wherever the affected sprites are pulled from, or any logic that blits them to the video RAM.
