Hello Everyone! I completed a wide-body Mario Bros. restoration and the pictures are below. Overall it wasn't in that bad of shape inside, just required a decent amount of TLC to make look new again. Enjoy!

Here are the stats:
  • 16ish total hours of labor
  • New Side Art
  • New Control Panel Overlay
  • Fixed monitor issue
  • Recapped audio board
  • Cleaned the whole unit inside and out
  • New LED light fixture behind marquee
  • Fixed broken coin mechs
  • New coin door lightbulbs
  • Exact paint color match
  • Fully disassembled and cleaned joysticks
  • New buttons from Mike's Arcade
  • New T-Molding
  • High Score Save Kit installed
  • New Takigen locks in the back

Nice work! I like how you listed all the things you did/needed but didn't include the cost of each. It's best not to do that. Sometimes it hurts too bad. LOL.

Looks awesome!

I've got a few questions, as I'm in the process of fixing mine up.

Did you repaint the whole orange side, or did you just touch up the areas that needed touching up? Care to share your orange paint code?

Did you paint the control panel before applying the new CPO? Did you clamp it for a while before sticking the CPO down to get the CPO to form around the corners?

Thanks!

Thanks! I did not need to paint the whole thing, I spot painted areas that needed it. You can tell I patch painted if you are up very close and looking for it but to most people it is not noticeable. Paint code pic attached.

Yes I primed the CP with auto primer to help with adhesion. I used maybe 15 clamps or so all around the CP, they are a must for any CPO replacement.
