why the top inch of my monitor is brighter than the rest of the screen
well my Polo came back from being repaired and I wanted to drop the original monitor back into my Tekken project cab and pulled the temp U5000 out (threw that in my SportStation actually... another story for another day) and I observed that the top inch or so on my Polo has some faint line patterns when you have the Screen turned up (I had to recalibrate all the colors and everything) in the same spot as this bright streak across the top of my U5000 had.
I asked about this problem with my U5000 before and I mostly got replies about replacing filter caps. since I have two totally different types of monitors affected in the same spot, could this be something to do with the power in my cab?
it's a converted Midway War Gods cab, no isolation transformer, just that stupid power box thing. I picked up an iso brick (among many other parts, and stole them for $10!) from a parted out Killer Instinct on fleabay last month, think it's worth swapping that in to see if the problem goes away?
if it matters, the monitor has an extension cable for the power, didn't have time to cut zipties to see if a direct connect made the prob go away.
the problem's actually GONE now that I have all the levels adjusted right, I'm just worried that the problems I've had with this chassis popping HOTs and flybacks could be resulting from the way the power's rigged up inside right now.
I paid uncle Chad good money to fix it. I don't want this damn thing to die again.
