why no zoo keeper repro bezels and marquees?

The Zoo Keeper marquees are often scratched up for some reason. I could use one if it gets reproduced.

These are almost definitely going to happen, just might be a couple months until everything is ready and done.

My guess is retail price will be about $70-$80 each plus shipping. Yes, I know it is a bit, but they will be printed on temperered glass by This Old Game and sold by us (QuarterArcade.com). Printing on glass is not cheap and they're are many colors on this one.

I'll keep everyone posted. Zoo Keeper CPOs should be here by next week and available for sale then. Buy lots of ZK CPOs so I can justify doing some more stuff :)

Why do repro's have to be done on glass? I'd take a plexi marquee, but I guess Im not a "serious" collector...

I've asked Rich this and my understanding (as far as Marquees go) is that Glass is a joy to work (no static or shavings to deal with and if you mess up you can wipe off and start over) with and his glass guy charges about the same as the plex guy.

Oh, ok then. I wasn't sure if there was a huge price difference.

not sure it's a big deal to everyone but since Rich has commented in the past (encom tron marquees) that the difference in price between glass and plexi is minimal then I assume just repro it on what it was originally.

Agreed.. Original material should always be done, unless it would be much more likely for the inks to delaminate from the glass or plexi.

That's what I'd be worried about; every Zookeeper marquee I've seen has the paint bubbling off of it. That and Foodfight marquees. If that were a potential issue, I'd go with whichever holds the ink better.

Hard to say if the inks of today are any better than the inks of yester years
The Majority of the Atari glass held up the best over the Decades
I think the second contributing factor to Taito is the lights behind it
Simmalar issues to that of Pinball backglasses

This is a good point. Anthony advised printing on glass is more expensive, hence the 70-80 per piece, but we have an opposing view saying the difference is very minimal. I'm all for a faithful product and I will be supporting Anthony's ZK CPO effort. I just would like to avoid paying 80 bucks for a marquee if I can. :)

Glass all the way!!

Taito used subpar inks back then.. Not to mention the bulbs behind the marquee get hot, as they aren't florescent.. I'd spend $70-80 on a nice glass repro.. There are plexi's out there now, just aren't right.. Thanks for taking on this project!!

Come to think of it, most Taito marquees I've seen have flaked like Gottlieb Sys 1 backglasses..they didn't hold up.

I'll definitely pay $70-$80 for the high quality repo marquee when they're available
