UGH!!!! So frustrated right now.

Seems like EVERY machine screw post on my Diner machine is held in with Lock-Tite.

I have tried heating the threads with a soldering iron already. That worked once, but the next 3 still snapped off, although it seemed like they were moving :(

How the hell do people shop out these machines???!!!!

Chris

Remember these things were made to be used for 2 or 3 years and junked. Apparently Williams didn't want things coming loose.

I've run into it on Bride of Pinbot and Banzai Run.

You get by with heat, and lots of new screws and T bolts.

LTG : )

Almost all of the system 11 games are that way. I always thought it was some sort of galvanic corrosion.

Have you run into any yet that froze in the T nut and just spin the nut on the bottom of the play field?

Never heard of this issue. I have a post wrench that makes it easier to take of the nut.

I remember doing a Bad Cats once, where I snapped damn near every one of them.

I dont even fool with it anymore, not worth the time trying to baby every post screw out. I went ahead and bought a box of T nuts to have on hand, if they twist off they just twist off. As soon as it breaks I pop out the T nut, and once Im done I lift the playfield and replace the missing ones. Hell of a lot less headaches. Oh, and clean any white off the screws you reuse or youll spin out the old T nuts that didnt come out

have you tried tightening first to crack/break the bond? it's an old mechanics trick.

I have one also, but for some reason, the System 11 machines seem to have this issue. like from 1988 - 1990 seems to be the worst. The Fire! I did i had no issues with whatsoever. My Black Knight 2000 was a disaster as well.

Yep. I heard Bad Cats was an issue as well.

As per Lloyd... after all.....

Yep! I tried heat. It worked on a few of them, but snapped some more.

Yeah, I think this is what I will be doing. Just order a buttload of T-Nuts and screws and be done with it.

Yes, thank you. Tried that tonight. Worked on 2, 3 more snapped, LOL

Oh well :)

Thanks again everyone!

The problem is it is the post screws that break not the nuts. I bought a 300w soldering gun that I use to heat the t-nuts. It works about 60 % of the time.

I broke sixteen on EATPM. Some were clean breaks, some were t-nut spinners. On a few spun t-nuts that were in tight spots under the playfield, I used a dremel to cut the jewel post and fastener from the playfield. It was quicker and easier to destroy the parts and replace them with new :)
