Bought a house in December with a 1000 sq foot garage. My dream of owning arcades from the 80's would soon come true. First bought a double dragon, then was hooked. Looked 4-5 times a day on craigslist. Bought a golden tee 05, then a cyclone pinball( my favorite), then centipede, robocop pinball, and twin eagle. I told my wife Im done but Im not done. Im going to try to make some trades for my favorite game. I also purchased a 21 ft shuffleboard and pool table. I will post pictures later.

You have room for at least 37-43* more games. ;)

Crack tries to be as addicting as adult-geek-nostalgia-collecting!

* Statistic made up with no factual basis...

Why is this so addicting? Beats me, but it is. I bought a 2600 sq. ft. house (1300 up and down) in March and finally moved all of my games into my new basement game room. I'm using close to 1/2 of the basement. I have 22 cabinets now, and only the last 4 of those were delivered to the house. The previous 18 were put into a storage unit. I got addicted before I even had a house to put them in! I still have a want list of about 8-10 titles from the golden age, but won't have room for that many more. Can probably fit in three more uprights before things start to get tight, and a friend is trying to sell me his Star Trek Captain's Chair. Oy!

Shuffleboard = WIN.

You have waaaay too much wasted space there, my man. Fill that bitch up!

Dude, your garage is 500ft2 less than my whole house.

Yeah, the space between your games is massive! I barely can fit a credit card between my games. This way, you also only need side art on the games that are on the end. ;)

my wife and i were house hunting a little over a year ago and found the perfect house...i usually could care less about where we live, but i picked this house based solely on my arcade addiction.
reason #1: the garage is at basement level, so no more hauling games up and down a flight of steps...
reason #2: there was an extra bedroom in the basement that i could easliy tear one wall out and double the size of the arcade room
reason #3: right off the game room is a 15 x 25 workshop that's all mine

i didn't even consider any of the other houses we looked at, just because this one was perfect for my addiction :)

There is only one word for a 21ft shuffle board table, and that word is: BADASS.

No sh!t. I freakin' LOVE these. I couldn't imagine having that much room.

I agree. I have had to slap myself several times to keep from buying shuffle bowlers. I love those things, but man they are big. It also doesn't help that in Texas our basements are on the second floor :(

All I have to say is DAMN a garage of my dreams :)
When me and the wife get back on our feat and start looking for another house we are solely going to base our decision a huge garage or huge basement for a game room.

For me, its mostly games that I played back in the day, although there are other games that I wouldn't mind having. Right now, I have room for one more but no extra money or anything in the area to buy anyway. I am itching for another game, but what is there to do?

BTW: I also love Cyclone pinball. I used to have one but I wanted something with a multiball feature so I sold it and bought a Tommy instead. I had that one for a while and loved it as well. I miss them both. I think I could even spare enough room for a pin but that's probably not going to be a problem any time soon.

For me it is addicting because of the pure sheer awesomeness of what it is. It is an arcade machine in my house! It goes back to the days when I could hardly afford to play a game let alone own one.

nice garcade! and when we sell this place, and look for our next house, a big criteria we have agreed on is a finished walk out basement or large garage, for more arcade space.

1000 sq ft garage is huge. I have about 25 games in 320 sq ft and a foosball table so you have plenty of room.

Now, i'm no shuffleboard player, so forgive me if this comes off as ignorant, but since the thing is so amazingly huge, and since you play it from each end and not from the side, wouldn't it be cooler (lol) if you put arcade games in front of it? You could fit like 10 of them in front of that thing, then still play it behind the arcade games. You could even build a little wall and paint it if you didn't want to stare at the back of the games the whole time.
