I was capping a k7400 and I found a it had a cap that did not show politary. It alos had no marking on the bpard. I saw a pic of a chasis, and no cap there either. Any ideals. Monitor was working, but fuzzy.
the big red button shows where the cap was. I did not realize the deal untill i had allready cut it. Also if the cap that was there was elotrolitic, it should have been marked. So if I replace it do i use an electrolitic?
Thank you all for looking
No polarity means that it is non-polar, and a polarized electrolytic will not work as a replacement.
It's no big deal that there is no marking there. A lot of times the factory final-testing techs add a part here or there to correct issues the chassis is having without having to completely depopulate the board and start again. You should put it back the way it was...
thank you sir for that reply. i thought as much. When I get a replacement, just stick it in either way? Also the only place in my towne that sold that sort of thing recently burned down.
