Why is the market soft right now?

Fixed that for you.

And you would have to upgrade your knowledge to participate in mine. Anyone can download KiCad, repackage someone else's software, have boards made in China for a few dollars each, and sell them to the social media crowd. Keep people stupid and take their money, while encouraging them to let original hardware rot. A great business.

You used to do repair. Then you quit, when you realized you could suck more money out of people by selling them stuff, instead of teaching them stuff.

Go back to Facebook. I'm sure you have this week's new products to announce.
Buddy, you ok?

are you jealous Andy?
soon to be available at arcadeshop the quantum multi pcb. This is the first quantum pcb with cycle accurate cpu emulation and 100% accurate draw routine.

What is there to be jealous of?

You know what else has a 100% accurate CPU and draw routine? A real, working Quantum board.

I'm more embarrassed for you. You want people to think you are Jrok. But you aren't.

This is clearly an ongoing feud. How long's it been happening, pray tell?

I don't know either of you well enough to comment on your disagreements, plus, I'm a newb and have no KLOV social standing, so I won't say anything about getting along in the community sandbox.

Personally, I find value in what both @andrewb and @ArcadeJason are doing. I love seeing cool new stuff come along that can plug into the old stuff (even if it *is* emulation), and I love learning how to repair *well* from experienced techs.

FWIW, I wish there was more knowledge-sharing on the new products side, but I'm also a small business owner, and get that you want to keep stuff close to your chest. That's okay, someone else will figure it out and publish the info, which just makes it better for everyone. I plan on being one of those "someone elses", but I'll start a new thread on that subject, when I can come up for air.

several years ago Andy was an active Facebook user and was kicked out of a bunch of face book groups for attacking people. he used to argue with several people at once and would spam walls of text until admins would ban him. i would also argue with him and and defend others and it upset him when people would take my side. Andy took this personal and has had an unhealthy obsession with me ever since. whenever you see a back and forth here on klov you will see our arguments always begin with an insult towards me from Andy. like this thread here.

the market may be soft but the egos are as hard as ever!

give peace a chance folks!

I did nothing more than call out BS and misinformation in the FB arcade groups, no differently than I do here.

The only difference is that FB feudal-lord group admins don't like it when people do that. So you and your cronies blocked me from a bunch of groups I don't even remember (which is a joke, because there are a million others I'm still in), because that's how Facebook works. Anyone calling anything out gets banned, and the herd gets culled so only the blind sheep are kept. And people wonder why scammers are so popular over there.

I'd also invite everyone here to go back and re-read this thread, and see the first time Jason's name was mentioned, and by who. (You can go to each page and Ctrl+F for 'jason' to find exactly where he was mentioned.)

I don't care for the stuff you make, Jason. I'm completely transparent about that. I think it's bad for the hobby, because it's a cash grab that short-circuits people from having to learn important and valuable things, and robs new people of better experiences they could be having. I've laid out my reasoning for this many times, and it's not going to change.

You don't have to like it, or me, and that's fine. But just because I hold the opinions I hold, doesn't mean I have an 'unhealthy obsession' with you. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. (However unlike on FB, they can be freely expressed here, without anyone banning anyone.)

I repair because that's what the hobby needs the most. It doesn't need more repro boards, it's about restoring what you already have.
I can crank out cheap Chinese boards to line my own pockets too, and keep people in the dark about learning how to properly repair and restore their games. I could make a lot more money doing that.
But I actually give a shit about the hobby, the games, and helping people learn, more than I do sucking as much money as I can out of the community, cranking out more gimmicky shit for people to buy.

That's awesome! When did that start?

It's pretty clear.

@ArcadeJason creates new projects.
@andrewb tears down / craps on all new innovations as the innovation police.

He's kind of like the Empire. Never saw a product he liked.

I'd guess small something syndrome, but maybe it's just envy or jealousy.

I don't get it. andrewb is a force in the repair of Atari games. Maybe he doesn't know what he is?

I think I may have finally figured out why the market is so soft right now.

I'm convinced it's related to excessive prune consumption. But I could be wrong.

I don't spend much time on this forum but there is basically always a thread where you are complaining about this guy. Its unhealthy because you can't let it go, its solely based on your opinions, it has no demonstratable negative impact on you or anyone in this hobby, and the impact even if your theories were true, would not have a very large impact on your life.

Literally every line of this is factually incorrect.

You really need to try harder to understand the things you believe you understand, but don't.

I've posted my perspective many times. Please go back and read any one of them, then explain my perspective to me in your own words, so you can demonstrate that you understand and can accurately represent it.

Can you do that? I predict you won't.

EDIT: Here's the post that I couldn't upload for some reason.
Seems to work if I copy it piece by piece from the reply buffer. Weird!

No it's not. But your statement *is* factually incorrect.

This is part of why people push back on you so much. You set up a logical attack on a statement or a person and then use hyperbole buried in a breathless wall of words to support your arguments whether they are valid (many are) or not (many are not). You try to win the arguments that you start by overwhelming your debate partners so that they just give up. You're also fond stating your personal opinions as facts without sufficient citation or logical support. These are effective strategies for you. But it's not good for the community nor for the hobby.

I'll present a trivial example to support my opening statement.

@ArcadeJason creates new projects.

Yes, he does. This is a true and indisputable fact and it's a direct counterexample to "Literally every line of this is factually incorrect."

So stop with the histrionics!
