> Mr. DO! Must be picked up July 20th!

> Mr. DO! arcade machine for sale. $500. Must be picked up by July 31st

> Mr. DO! arcade machine in excellent condition -- $500 -- Must be picked up by August 2nd

Seriously people, these things take time to move. Putting pressure on the buyer like this is just gonna make them shake their head and move on.

It's worth noting that the same person had a Tempest for sale, with the same date stipulations. I expressed interest in it, and now they're not relisting the Tempest, but they keep relisting the Mr. Do. Maybe they're gonna be patient with me, who knows.

I never get that either. If it MUST sell or get picked up by a certain date, how is it that the date keeps getting pushed back?

I know this topic of lame listings pops up periodically, but it's always fun to see responses.

I also like:

- I've got a lot of interest, so the price is now $$$$$$$$$$$$$. (Someone recently posted one of these)

- Big money maker!

- Hurry! Going to sell fast!

- These things go for $3000 on eBay, but it just needs a fuse/power supply so I'm only selling it for $2000.

People use all kinds of stupid tactics to try to get people to buy stuff.

Go to a used car lot and express interest in a used vehicle then tell them you need to think about it a little while. I f**king guarantee you they will say something along the lines of, "Ok, but I have a couple of other people interested in this one. I don't know how much longer it will be available".

I just move to a new seller. I have no time for BS.

A friend of mine was going to buy a used car from a lot a few years ago. It was towards the back and the middle of winter.

The dealer had to go get a battery in order to give it a jump, it had been out for so long. The douchebag still tried the "I've got a couple of bites on this one, and this price is only good for today" tactic. It's like a sickness with certain sellers.

There's one of those Walmart multi arcade cabs on the Buffalo\Rochester CL listed as 'Big money maker'

Damn thing doesn't even have a coin door in it

I'll try to find it...

I don't get this tactic either. Price only good for today? Really? So if it doesn't sell, you won't take it for the same amount the next day? Highly doubtful. I don't get how some sellers try to come off like they are a retail chain.

Just because your selling or buying an item, It doesn't mean it's ok to lie about why your selling an item. Funny how some people morals compass gets put away when they have to become a sales person or if they want something for nothing.

i saw that. if he really wants to sell maybe lower the price to something more reasonable.

I think mostly new guy's do that sort of thing, when i first started selling stuff i was all nervous when someone would show up but now i could care less cause theres always someone else. But the noob's try ANYTHING to get you to there door.

I emailed about the tempest and got no response. It amazes me how many people put no phone number in an ad and never reply to an email. They must not want to sell things that bad...

Usually what they do is, put the ad up, sell the game, and never pull the ad down or pay any attention to any further email replies.

Mr. Do large video arcade game for sale. $600, considering offers. MUST be picked up by this weekend! work but is down right now, used to be in a bar, and when they'd go down (which is normal) we'd call in the service guy and he would have them running again in a matter of ten minutes. We personally have no expertise. email with questions

Wow, does that ever sound familiar. I wonder if they still have that Tempest...
