Why do good machines turn up when you don't have money?

Like the title says, why do the good machines turn up when you don't have any money? I've been on the lookout for a Dig Dug machine for months. Now I'm out of work and low on cash. (Stupid economy) Guess what turns up on Craigslist? Not one, but two Dig Dug machines, and they are cheap to boot.

I needed to rant about this.

Anything...ANYTHING you want and cannot find when you have money will always show up when you are low on funds!

I'm not sure if that's part of Murphy's Law or what, but it always seems to be the case.

Blame Fate and move along.

Just buy one. The money will somehow work its way out for you. :)

When you have no money for them, stop looking, then you wont feel so bad! : )

With your quitter attitude you'll never have anything. Now buck up buttercup and get your ass down town and donate some plasma. Problem solved.
This message has been brought to you by Deadly Incorporated where our motto is, "When pimpin the dick ain't bringing the chicks and you ain't buyin shit."

I just emailed one of the sellers after noticing he's a fellow collector. It's a long shot, but maybe I can trade my Baby Pacman. It's currently out of commission. (Bad MCU)

I wouldn't trade a baby pacman for a dig dug I think you would be loosing out value wise on that deal. I have the same problem but with parts I'm going on vacation trying to save money and what happens parts I have been looking for for a year start popping up at amazing prices everywhere. Just got a Burgertime monitor glass, Missile Command PCB, Burgertime Marquee for $10 almost NOS, And the last missing part for my Afterburner cockpit. All of which are extremely hard to come by parts.

Or when your physically disabled...

...I am dealing with this vertigo crap and the wife was with my mom and sister out and about when a $35.00 Super Cobra hits craigslist.

I CAN'T FREAKIN' DRIVE because of this virus...

Wife makes it home a few hours later... game is gone.

I know what you mean....but as of late it's been a different dilemma for myself. My usual transport buddy with a van doesn't live close by anymore...so I have no way to pick anything up anymore....bah

When I lost my last job, a Golgo 13 of all fucking things popped up on CL. You know how much I wanted to just play that game? Let alone see one in person. I was under the impression I would never see one unless I took a trip to Japan. Yet there it was, in MY area code...working...yet I had zero cash.

It's how it works.

There are still machines and parts that I can afford. Right now there's a nice Space Wars cabinet for sale $40. No monitor or PCB, but the cab looks nice.

Unfortunately the seller has yet to respond. It was listed 3 hours prior to my seeing it, so someone probably already snagged it.

A Golgo 13?! Holy shit!

Hate to say it, but seems like Karl (FullThrottle) is getting that one.

I know the feeling, for sure.

One that's really miffed me lately is a Galaga down in Portland for $175. I called on it within 30 minutes, but someone was going to pick it up already.

worst part for me... he mentioned where the guy was coming from, and I recognized that as the guy who already has about 67 games. Also, the same guy who went to a storage unit sale and picked up all the games before anyone else really had a chance to even get in and look. So, this guy has burned me twice now...

I have to just look at it as, oh well, first come first serve, you know

i know what your talking about, i lost my job back in june and ever since i got into this hobby i have been wanting to get an area 51 non working but never see one and now one turns up on CL for 75 bucks!!

sucks not having money :(
