Why do Craigslist people hate me (and my ads)?

I've about had it. Everytime I post a wanted ad for arcades, it gets flagged and removed almost instantly. This is rediculous, I've checked the rules, and I'm sure I'm not breaking them. Last time I even put a little note down at the bottom, "please do not flag for no reason- email me if you've got a problem" and they still flag me. I hope it's not any members here... I'm just wondering if you people have simaler problems, and if they'res a way to stop it? /end rant

Haters!!! Craigslist police suck. Although the same post over and over gets old. Do you run the same post everytime?

No, my posts always vary, and it's not like I post the ads all over the place, every few days. I post one ad in one location, and it's always taken down. I suspect it's being flagged by fellow collectors (sadly) trying to get the bussiness first.

Haters gonna HATE!

Craiglist is the gathering place for the dregs of society for the most part.2% decent people simply trying to buy/sell stuff,98% worthless pieces of shit acting like total dickholes. And CL definitely needs to revise their flagging stipulations. You shouldn't be able to get an ad removed if there is nothing wrong with it.

I've had an ad flagged too. What's really aggravates me though are the flagrant rule breakers that get away with it day after day, and never seem to get flagged. It never used to bother me, until I had my first ad flagged. How they can get away with it, I don't know. I actually was reading the CL forums about ad flagging, and I read there's a certain way to post them, that keeps them from being flagged. It could be bullshit, but you may want to Google it. It seems plausible, as there's one big-time local rule breaker here that seems untouchable.

Also after reading their forums I found that, ads are likely to be flagged if you're asking for free stuff. Apparently you need to ask very specifically for certain items, and have a price listed, otherwise people will flag you. Just because your ad follows CL's rules, doesn't mean it escapes the itchy finger of those that flag for fun.

I'd recommend that you search the CL forums on flagging, and I'm sure you'll find a situation similar to yours you could gather some pointers from.

That really is some bullshit you guys go through. I'm a militaria dealer and put numerous posts on craigslist looking for and selling militaria. Sometimes, I secretly sneak some "naughty" (or what they'd consider naughty like weapons) material on there and never get caught. Only once did I get caught for a holster, but that was about it and the CLPD (watch, they're gunna have one one day) didn't do anything but tell me to watch out for others. Now how come you guys get flagged for games when other people actually post offences? That's unfair.

Not sure where in Ohio you are, but I have the exact same problem on Columbus CL. It is a local guy that flags them, he and his entire redneck family flag any ads offering to buy arcade or pinballs. I think his name is VIC and his number is 622-1515 or something close.

So, now all the people he flags, retaliate by flagging his posts, and basically anything that says "I buy arcades" gets flagged immediately.

I haven't tried posting a similar ad in almost two years for that reason. By contrast, my arcade sales ads NEVER get flagged, only the offers to buy.

Sounds farmiliar here also.....we have a group of "buyers" whom post ads to buy multiple times per day. They all flag each other. It's quite the rat race.

I feel your pain. I listed about 19 games a little over a week ago and have had to relist it probably 50+ times. My ad gets flagged in minutes. I have not broken any rules but there are lots of haters in MI. I even have people creating listings saying things like "keep listing and I will keep flagging". I don't get it. I don't flag ads of people selling games- why would I?

I have had several other people create listings that say my games are legit and I am good to work with (which was a pleasant surprise from CL), but some people just want to be assholes. There are a couple individuals that I am aware of in our market that do this kind of thing and don't do a good job of covering their tracks. Pretty much horrible and hard to understand. I wish more people would list games, then we would all have more to buy! I am going to give my listing a rest for a week or so and then try to list a few individually to get them moved along, the rest are going into storage for the winter.

Good luck down there. I don't search Ohio much, but would be interested in hearing about what you have to sell. Have you posted the games on here as well?

When both posting and flagging are anonymous, it is too easy to have the system abused.

Do a search here for the "Help me flag this guy" posts to see how quickly people jump on that bandwagon.

that's exactly my problem, I post a WTB in Columbus and it's flagged before I could do anything. Worse yet, it's obvious that wtb ads are effective, I scored my beautiful Tempest off of one of my ads (which was promptly flagged and removed after)

Does CL have any sort of admin that can be contacted?

If someone is admitting to it ("Keep posting and I'll keep flagging"), see about having them charged with cyber-stalking. Probably wouldn't work, but it would be interesting to find out.

Same thing here in Tucson and it's worse in Phoenix.. hole load of crap the innocent collectors go through on CL.

Oh well, that's okay as the hobby is all 'frozen' in carbonate for the time being. :)

Yeah I don't get that. I like the one recently where somebody was asking people to flag a guy cause he was rude in an email. bad thing is people were doing it. People who flag just because somebody here asked them to are just plain wrong.
