I got my first one,Its in a arkanoid i recently picked up. I dont know much about monitors still learning, when i have a monitor issue i usually call my buddy greg (arcadegreg) to walk me thru it or post something here. Just curious why everyone likes them so much? Are they easier to work on? are they better (last longer)? The one i have is working great, some burn in but not to bad.just curious cause i see you guy's talk about them quit a bit.

Easy to work on, parts readily available, long-term stability (I've seen some 30-yr-old ones still working with original parts), nice picture - plus it was very popular with arcade manufacturers back in the early 80's, so is seen in many games....

if your into original parts and restores then electrohome g07 was found in a lot of arcade cabs,so for some shoving anything but the original in is no no.
:)

A rebuilt G07 is as reliable, if not more so, than a brand new monitor. It is just a very solid and well built design, parts are still readily available, they are easy to work on, well documented, and they were heavily used BITD. Plus, it used a tube that was widely used by TV manufacturers so tube swaps are possible.

Most of my games have G07s.

Anything that lasts 30 years and still works great is 'thumbs up' in my book. I've had brand new monitors that only last a couple of years and we're done (tubes were shot). Heck... Your hard pressed to find a good U/K series wells with a good tube! (u2000, u5000, k7500, etc)

G07's were very common during the golden age of gaming, and currently that is the primary goal of most collectors. When I compare it to the other common monitor of the time (WG K4600) I'll take the G07 primarily due to simplicitiy and reliability. Another things that sets it apart from it's contemporaries is I have seen far fewer operator hacks on the G07 than on a 4600, 4900, or Hantarex. Sometimes fixing a hack costs more than the chassis is worth.

The only complaint I have about the G07 is the board is too thin and cracks easily...

I apologize if it's posted on another thread, but I have (2) G07's in a couple of games that are suffering from nothing other than bad burn-in - is there a list of common TV tubes that are compatible? I could start trolling CL for old TVs. Thanks in advance.

I've had my Ms. Pac for 10 years and the G07 has been very good to me. It blew its original flyback a couple of years ago and I put in a Bob Roberts kit that has everything. Its been working great for the entire time except for that one incident. Great monitors, those G07s.
