It's my current obsession. I recently had my highest game ever, and reached the 3rd level at the same time, something I've never had the skill, desire or attention span to do before. After my recent party I noticed that someone had put a HS of 32,xxx on my machine. I was determined to try and beat it. I reached a score of 29,xxx before succumbing to several assaults by Mr. Pickle (First time I ever saw him in the game. Please don't laugh). That was as close as I got. This game is brutal.

It's a hard as hell. I was scoring in high 40's and thought I was doing well until a friend came over and hit 87k on his first guy. I haven't wanted to play since lol.

Kinda like the 300K score that someone put up on my Q*bert. Kinda takes the fun out of playing now.

Some people seem to have an innate ability to succeed at certain games. Another friend destroyed me at Gyruss, scoring 450k+,.. more than double my best game. I hardly play that now either lol.

actually with a little work it's pretty easy to score in the hundreds of thousands on burger time within the first 3 screens of the game. It's all about grouping the bad guys and dropping them repeatedly with every single piece of the burger.

After a bit of practice I was able to get 142k. I got to the 3rd screen a second time. I try to get a perfect first screen, which is around 60k points and in the process you get a 6 extra lives and 4 peppers which last a while.

A lot of the game is knowing where the enemies will go based on where you're at. They're not random, and you can work up some basic patterns. I've only got one worked out for the first screen.

I haven't paid much attention to score, but it's hard as hell to get past that 3rd level.

I have a cocktail version of Burger time and love it. I just got my DAD hooked on it when he came over to help me load two more cabinets into my basement. I need a high save score kit for it. but I play it regularly and have not been able to pass the 4 board.

Nice thread, love me some Btime. I am not great at Btime, but routinely get 120k+. There are a few things you can do to increase your score. There are better players that may have additional tips or edits of these, but these have worked for me in the past.

The burger ingredients can be tricked. If you turn one way or another or go up or down a ladder it will make them do it, so you can do some shimmy moves to trick them.

The ingredients generally only go up or down one ladder in distance, so if you are trying to line them up for a big drop, keep in mind that they will not travel the further than a ladder in distance.

Always get the ice cream. It will give you points but also a pepper. Peppers are critical as you get to the harder boards.

Try to get the ingredients to group together. Sometimes you have to use a pepper or two to get them to posse up, but if you do you will get a lot more points when you drop them. The other good thing is that they will generally reappear together so you can continue to drop multiples.

There is a tendency to drop the burgers from the very top down and you get good points for this and you clear boards faster, but if you drop them from the bottom up, you will get a ton more points, both in dropping ingredients and getting ice cream/peppers.

Other than that, try to get some patterns down on the tougher boards. Sometimes you will miss a pickle or burger patty by millimeters, but the timing is everything to get to a place where you can drop em like its hot.

Man, haven't played Btime in 3+ months, but will tonight!

This is a game that I 'must own' because of the cabinet design, the artwork, the goofiness of it, but I am TERRIBLE at it. It's nearly always game over on the 2nd level for me. It will be one of the last to leave my collection.

Fixed.

Also great game. Got one a few weeks ago, can barely break the 15k mark. Restoring the control panel currently though. Should be up this week sometime.

I LOVE Burgertime. Never tired of it in the last 30 years! :)

I only have it on my multi-game but it's still one of my favorites.

I currently have the Burger bug, sadly I can currently only play in MAME... but not for long! I just picked up a Burger Time currently in the middle of a resto... just look at all that Burger Grease over 30 Years! yuck!

*I know I still need to put the "pepper stencils" on the white buttons, I already ordered them from gamestencils aka pr0k but still have yet to get them in the mail. I suck at the game also and phet I seem to always agree on your taste of games.

It's an ingenious game with a perfect cabinet design but my brain doesn't think strategically, and I have no patience. Therefore Burgertime is NOT my kind of game. But I sure can appreciate it's design finesse.

Yeah, that CrazyKong has some mad skills. I watched him play most of the 300k Q*bert game and it was probably an average to less than average game for him.

Pretty sure he's done 1m before...or at the least 500k-1m. He's an excellent all around player.
