Who's getting Diablo 3 tonight?

So 360/PS3 versions have offline single player and 4 player coop on a single console, LAN play, and no RMAH/GAH, and have improved loot drop rates. They tailored the controls to the consoles, and even added an evade manoeuvre.

Exactly what the PC version needs to go from a "don't bother" to a "buy". Really hoping they re-launch the PC version, and remove the RMAH/GAH and allow offline single player and LAN play... Especially since Blizzard admitted the RMAH was a mistake.

All I care is that the stupid always on DRM be done away with on PC...Blizzard can suck my nuts otherwise and won't get my money, not even buying the console version.

I finally bought my first item in the Auction House. A new crossbow for my Demon Hunter. I feel so dirty now. Also got another legendary drop yesterday, whoot!

Now they just need to fix the PC version, restore LAN play, up the player limit back to 8 and I might buy it...

I logged in to play a little bit last night and got a message that the Auction Houses will be shutting down next year for PC. I guess I need to go on a bidding/buying spree before it goes away.

They totally screwed up with the Auction House because they focused on the off-site sellers and what they did with their bots and not with the botters themselves. All this is going to do is put those gold botters out of business, but I suspect they'll find some other way to screw with the economy.

Hell hath indeed frozen over. Auction house to be discontinued March 2014:

"When we initially designed and implemented the auction houses, the driving goal was to provide a convenient and secure system for trades. But as we've mentioned on different occasions, it became increasingly clear that despite the benefits of the AH system and the fact that many players around the world use it, it ultimately undermines Diablo's core game play: kill monsters to get cool loot. With that in mind, we want to let everyone know that we've decided to remove the gold and real-money auction house system from Diablo III.

We feel that this move along with the Loot 2.0 system being developed concurrently with Reaper of Souls™ will result in a much more rewarding game experience for our players.

We're working out the details of how the auction house system will be shut down, but we wanted to share the news as soon as we made the decision in order to give everyone as much advance notice as possible. Please note that the shutdown will occur on March 18, 2014. We will keep everyone informed as we work through this process.

Josh Mosqueira and I wanted to provide everyone with a little more information behind this decision, so please have a look at the video, and stay tuned to this site for further updates in the months ahead."

can you explain the new "adventurer" mode?

Its open ended, no questlines. All cut-scenes for encounters are cut, although the fade-in is still present. You don't need to skip cut-scenes. Also those parchment movies and in-between act movies do not play.

Each act has 5 bounties if you want to complete them. They are either "kill this monster" or "help this NPC" which is basically just killing monsters. If you complete all 5 bounties in an act, you can talk to Tyrael and he will give you a cache item which will be in your inventory. Right click on it and get a bunch of treasure. The items you get are the same kinds you get from a treasure goblin.

You don't have to do the bounties if you don't want. You can go to any waypoint in any act. Some monsters will drop key fragments. You can use them on a pillar in town to open a rift portal where you can then have to kill monsters. After you fill the progress bar you get to fight a rift guardian. He drops loot, you exit the rift and talk to Orek and the realm is closed. You can keep using the rift portal if you have the key fragments, but really once you get one you won't have a problem running out.

I believe on higher levels of difficulty (master1-6) you can do the greater rifts, which is a new feature. I haven't yet gotten up that far.

EDIT: you (or anyone) can add me if you have RoS expansion, on America realm on PC version:
