I have one pre-ordered - the wifi only version - but haven't decided on games yet. I'll probably get Hot Shots Golf, and I want Uncharted, but can't bring myself to spend $50 on a portable game.

Yeah, it comes out a day before my birthday so it's very tempting to use that as an excuse to get it. :D

I'm actually pretty happy with the launch lineup and games coming soon thereafter. Way better than the 3DS' first months before the price drop.

Hot Shots Golf (always fun)
Uncharted
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Madden 13
MLB The Show
etc.

If I do get one, I may just stick with Wifi as well. Only $50 more for 3G, but then you have to pay for monthly service. Not worth it for someone like me that doesn't play online much.

It would be even sweeter if someone ends up hacking it to run emulators like PSPs that have come before.

I've got the wifi version on preorder as well as Uncharted. That'll probably be it for me for a while.

Those are the two main reasons I'm not getting the 3G version. I don't need another contract, and I almost never play online (I play games to be anti-social and lose myself in the game, not to go online and socialize with others).

Oh, and it's AT&T which is crap.

Nice! I couldn't have said it better myself! Though I mainly don't play online much because:

To be fair, all providers are crap, some just in different ways than others.

If it's anything like the 3DS launch you're better off waiting a few months and getting it for $100 less.

I will be getting one, but not right away.

I do have a job now, and can easily afford it... but I'm of the mind my first priority is to settle the bills I acquired while I was unemployed...

With the 3DS there were no games I really wanted at launch. For the Vita there are multiple games I want to play, so it already has that going for it.

I also don't foresee Sony dropping the price as quick as Nintendo did on the 3DS

I guess it'll depend on how well it does from the start. But with the Vita you are getting better piece of tech right off the bat compared to the 3DS.

A Vita? I just got a PSP last year, give me another three or four before I pick one up :D

That sure didn't help the PSP do better than the DS.

Which one did better in the case of different types? There are 4 DS Versions and 4 PSP versions.

I'll be watching to see how it goes.

It didn't help it, because it increased the cost...I'd bet most are like myself, and don't care for extra features that aren't related to gaming.

I don't listen to music, watch movies or view pictures on my PSP...I play games, it's a GAMING handheld. I feel the same way about consoles and cell phones...I'm not paying for bloat I don't want, and Nintendo never forces it on me.

I waited to get a PSP and PS3 until the prices came right down because of that bloat.

True. Part of the problem was that the DS had a strong following already by the time the PSP came out and the PSP was significantly more expensive in comparison. In this case, the Vita is coming out at the same price point as the 3DS did originally...Nintendo probably did well to lower the price when they did, hoping people will forget that it was once the same as the Vita.

Who knows, only time will tell. I'm on the fence on cancelling my preorder, but chances are that I'll keep it. I'm a suck for all this shit and will probably end up rarely playing the damn thing. Hell, I'm mostly interesting in getting all the PSP games I missed on the Vita.

I just traded my 3DS in toward my Vita preorder. Gamestop has a special going on right now where you get an extra $25 if you trade another handheld toward your Vita preorder.

Can't wait. Preordered ModNation racers...
