Who's currently the best to send a Tapper board out to test/diagnose/repair?

Yeah, what is up with those tabs??? OMG, that's impressive.

(And what's the reference above regarding the sale on FB?)

Apparently the buyer of the tapper (OP) opened an Ebay claim "Well today he is claiming the replaced power supply was a hack job, not all original hardware per advertised, and he wants a $900 refund on a $2300 purchased Tapper game, or he wants to return it with a police officer present and I pay his traveling expenses in both directions from NJ to VA, $200 total. "

Seller saw the above post that the board had come loose in shipping (OP picked up game) and damaged stuff. Seller is upset that it seems the OP damaged stuff himself and is passing the buck.

Ultimately it isn't a KLOV thing BUT, but is shitty if true as stated.

My concern is anyone considering buying from the OP or doing board repair for him. Beware, he's apparently not above scamming someone after he damaged the game himself. Threatened collector he bought the Tapper from with getting cop to come to his house, etc.

Quite true, or so it seems. To be clear, he picked game up and inspected game running with back off, or so seller claims.

Seems OP ended his dispute with seller. Happy for seller!

Would love to hear OPs story. Sadly can't mark him as a bad buyer here. But, I don't know, I guess without his story we can all draw conclusions about what happened.

Read the Facebook and Op never stated he wanted refund for the damaged board (that I could find). It was because the item was not as the seller described (hacked in switching power supply, wires soldered directly to pcb) etc. It is possible that Op didn't uncover that until after he got the game home and it no longer worked. Shit I still make inspection mistakes on game pickups (like pcb not being secured).

Not justifying the amount requested or taking sides but there are two sides.

I agree with you and don't dispute that! There are two sides for sure.

Threatening that he wants a partial refund, or will bring cop along to the seller's house though...

For damage he did. $900 for a new MCR adapter ($39) and some wiring work is bonkers.

If a buyer contacted me and said, "Hey fucker, the wiring's a mess and there's no MCR adapter like I thought there was". I'd happily send him the Kit from Arcadeshop. I wouldn't let him get $900 back. Lol. That's silly.

Again don't want to come off as defending a side, because I am not but that is not what was said.
Paraphrase refund option A) ridiculous partial refund or

"B) A full refund and I will gladly drive another nine hour round trip and return the machine to you for a full refund with a police officer present so that to make sure that the return is done in a peaceful way and that there is no possibility of a physical dispute or interaction between us."

You interpreted (<<fixed) that as threatening and bringing the cops? He could have been trying to reassure the seller if he preferred to issue a full refund.

It is messed up to offer full refund option knowing that the game was more damaged now than when he got it....doh ..not taking sides not taking sides.

Ok, so a full refund after he broke it while transporting? Or a $900 refund for a game he broke. Both those options are bad options.

LOL, what are you defending?

Not taking sides!

Hey guys you can all relax, I had a nice conversation with him over the phone about an hour ago and we put the issue to rest and behind us peacefully. I've been a 100% ebay member since joining in 2002 (just read my feedback) and he's also a 100% ebayer since 1999. We spoke on the phone and have all the qualms and issues about the deal settled and done with.

Also, I've done tons of buys and had tons of work done by fellow KLOVER's here that can vouch that at no point in time was there a problem, ever, and I've even paypal'd tips to members on here just for useful advice that helped me out on here behind the scenes when they didn't even want to accept my tips. I've even gave parts away for free.

Anyway, we spoke over the phone peacefully and put a fork in it so moving forward... this game is a disaster internally. One pin on the edge connector got burned and instead of installing a new edge connector, they cut the wire and soldered it directly to the PCB. You would think if someone is smart enough to install a switching power supply that they would also be smart enough to install a new edge connector. It has tons of issues like this that hopefully I can unwind and get the game put back together properly because it is a poor botch job (externally it looks great, however.)
