Whoa! Look at what I found in the "wild"!!!!

Well, these aren't exactly in the "wild", but they're out in a public location. So, the scoop is that I was dropping off some paperwork to get my son enrolled in preschool at a local community center. I walked by an open door, and saw what looked like a vintage cabinet. I stopped, backed up, and looked in and saw more. I walked in, turned around, and HOLY CRAP!!!!

So from what I could see, there was:
NFL Blitz
NBA Jam
Spy Hunter
Carnival
Karate Champ
After Burner
Tiger Heli
Galaxian
Challenger
Millipede
Rush'n Attack
Pole Position 1 and 2
Jungle Hunt
Tumblepop
Missle Command
Out Run
Pac Man
Clutch Hitter
Off Road

Now I don't know what the scoop is on these. The room lights were off and all the games were off. Obviously, from the setup and the fact that Jungle Hunt and PP2 were jammed in the corner, I doubt they all work, or get used much. However, it is a community center and the room obviously gets used. I'm probably heading back over that way this afternoon to take my son to the playground, so I'm going to see what the story is behind these and/or they're availability! This is as close to a warehouse find that I'm going to get!

I'm not a big fan of 720, but that is horrific. Save those classics!

That NBA Jam isn't in a 720 cab...I'm not sure what it is. From the 1 minute I was in the room, most looked to just be worn and faded with typical CPO wear, but not abused. The T-molding was decent and I didn't see much water damage. I was sort of looking for a local Pac cab to fully restore and multi because I don't have much more room.

EDIT: Never mind...I can't believe I didn't recognize the Clutch Hitter conversion. Maybe I should try to swap the monitor for my burned in one.

Dang thats nice, maybe you can work out a trade with them, they give you some games and you fix the ones they really wanna keep

Wow Derek!

What a crazy cool find. If you go back, PLEASE get me a pic of that 720 CH conversion for our 720 Hellcade.

And find out who owns those games and make an offer on that Pacman. That's your next project!! :)

Very cool, thanks for sharing.

Dang straight...I want to do a conversion like yours! I might be able to squeeze 1 more game out of my wife...if the price is right.

That's a very cool find. I love running into these types of setups. It's like a time warp.

Thanks for sharing the pics!

Woah! That is like a little classic arcade right there. That is also the first pic I have seen of a Centuri Challenger machine out in the wild. It is a very rare and quite strange game.

I remember when they used to put "Wanted for our community center: arcade game donations" in the newspaper. I bet that's where these came from.

Does anyone else remember those? Newspapers, I mean?

A lot were donated and they're in a teen center. Some work, some don't. It's a pretty protective community and they probably can't swing any sort of deal without 5 different town meetings. The one lady I spoke with said that they've been trying to get a DDR and have been trying to work a deal with a local bowling alley. I can't blame them...what teen nowadays wants to play Karate Champ vs. DDR? Anyway, I'm not really looking for any game specifically, but if they're looking to get rid of any of them, I told them to give me a shout. I don't want to be too aggressive because it'll scare them off. If it happens, it happens and I'll let people know what's available.

Someone also mentioned that might be some sort of Missle Command from Ireland or something. Maybe they came from the same place.

Nice 1980's decor there with the album covers, etc.

Anyone know what the "NEOS" machine is? I have searched and found some pics but no real idea of what it is/does. Looks like those are speakers around it.

Cool looking place.
