anybody from here get some games from the local auction here in Grand Rapids?

i ended up picking up a zoo keeper but i know d-roy was bidding on the missile command and lost it due to the auction server being real slow.

I saw you were after the Zoo Keeper. Congrats on getting it! :) I thought about bidding on it it but then realistically I don't have the space anyway plus I hate to fight fellow KLOVers for a game. I was more after the Missile Command and I have to say I was really surprised it went for that much. I bowed out after it went over $200. Unless someone was able to check it out beforehand, I think $260 was a pretty big gamble especially if you don't know for certain it's complete. One thing I don't get is how they can say "unknown condition" even when they plug in other games and sell them as working. Of course you have to assume that means it doesn't work. Was your buddy by chance able to make it out to their location and see the game? Just curious. The CP rust made me wonder how much moisture it had been around and if the cab was water damaged. Couldn't really tell from the pics, but the side they showed looked good.

Whoa - small world. I ended up with the Missile Command. Had I known it was you going after the Zoo Keeper, Fudd, I would have backed off much sooner. Sorry!

Had a chance to look everything over this afternoon. In my experience with that place (which is 3 or 4 games now) - "working condition unknown" is generally the equivalent of "untested" (i.e. not working but we want as much $ as possible). Saying that, the working condition unknown Star Wars I picked up ended up being a fuse on the 6100, so sometimes you get lucky.

The Missile Command is in pretty nice shape, and ended up going for my limit. Really excited about picking that up, have wanted one for awhile and will work out well with my space constraints.

Anyone get the BurgerTime?

Congrats on getting the Missile Command. :) I figured my high bid at 175 or whatever it was wouldn't last that long lol. The burgertime seemed like a pretty good deal. I think they said it had a new LCD monitor?

i figured that was you derek but didn't say anything to give you a fair chance to get it. you only bid me up $300. lol

d-roy wanted that MC badly but had issues with the site he said.

i don't know who got the burger time, had a lcd in it.

i remember me and leinhit were bidding on that Star wars as well. looks like all the klover's bid on that site.

Congrats to those that won games there. Its a shame they seem to go so high.. And then the auction house fee on top of it all. Bleh.

Glad I stayed out of that bidding war this time :)

now you have more money for pins at patz nerb..

supergunguru are you coming this year?
Yeah I'll probably be there. Man how time flies it's going to be next month already. I wonder if they are having an auction again this year?

Yep, there's going to be an auction on Saturday. I read that it's been bumped out until 3:00 on Saturday so they can fit more tutorials in. I'm hoping I can make it to PATZ this year, I'm flying out to CA for work at some point that weekend but wont know the exact day until the week before.

wow i was curious how high that batman pin would go......way to much! 1700+ fees for a 1200 pin

Yeah, I was shocked by that. It generally seems to crop up in the midwest between $900 - $1100. Many items (not just games) often seem to go for way more than they're worth at that place.

OK, I must be out of the circle when it comes to Michigan arcade stuff. I try to get into the network, but I don't seem to fit in I guess. I never hear about auctions or get togehters in the area. Maybe I need to network with the "IN" crowd. LOL

Eh just check the site linked to at the beginning of the thread. They have games pop up there fairly often. I was lucky once when they were selling stuff for an op that was only 10 minutes from my house. :D

It seems like most of the Michigan members are either on the west side of the state near GR, Kzoo, BC, etc or in the Metro Detroit area. I'm kinda stuck in the middle though. When Super Auctions used to come to MI (boy that's been a while :() it was only a bit further fro me to go to their Kzoo auction than their Detroit auction.

I still do not trust those repocast auctions. How can a beat up batman pin go for 1700??? I have seen a lot of items that sold, relisted again the next week. I had a decent shape one on craigs last year for 900 and it took a month or so to sell....
