Who wants a Super Punch-Out!! marquee from Rich at thisoldgame?

Rich over at thisoldgame.com is willing to take this on if there is atleast 25 marquees sold. These seem very rare, and going for upwards of $100 when they do pop up, and since the rest of the SPO art is available lets finish the job.

Price would be $45. So if you want one put your name down. I'm already down for 2, Mike96 is down for one, so we need atleast 22 more.

Here's the thread MaximRocoil made on the marquee. He scanned and vectored the SPO marquee along with the SPO side art, and duckpull.

If it will make mine worth less, I'll take one.
When Rich posts, then we will know it's a serious go...

He already posted in the thread that is linked to in the OP. It was his idea to make this thread in the general section:

Might want to consider moving this to the general section to guage interest
I could run these after I finish up the Encom Tron Marquee if we can get at least 25 people on board at the $45 price range silkscreened 1/8" plexi

I had another member offer his marquee for color matching.

This really screws all of us who have nice original ones ;)

If it helps you guys who need them, I'll take one too.

Original will still always be better.

The original is better for the sake of being an original, but there is a good chance that the reproduction will be better quality. The SPO marquee is the black sheep of the PO/SPO artwork. While the original PO sideart, "Super" decal, PO CPO, and Ducking Pull sticker were all of excellent quality (the original "Super" decal being a standout in terms of quality); the original SPO marquee was a rather sloppy printing job, suffering from numerous registration errors and geometric distortion. That sort of thing is inevitable with a manual process such as screen printing, but there are more noticeable errors in the SPO marquee than any of the other artwork.

I corrected the geometry and alignment errors of the "Punch-Out" text in the vector file that I made, so if this gets printed, Rich will be starting with a clean slate. Originally I just traced the PO text exactly as-is (that's what the image in your OP is from), but that would have compounded the errors when printed; i.e., the original printing errors being replicated in the vector file, plus the inevitable new printing errors when it gets screen printed.

Here is a raster image of the current, and perhaps final version of the vector file:

Note that those incorrect colors are just place holders. Rich indicated that he was offered the use of an original SPO marquee to color-match from.

I'd probably be down for one, even though I sold off my PO's, haha. Maybe one of these days Ill snag another.

Alright I'll add you as a maybe.

And to anyone on the fence, with the double Punch Out kit in the works, hopefully coming out soon, this is a good time to get a SPO marquee while you can. Or if you are planning on ever owning a SPO it's a great chance to get it cause if this does end up being made and you miss out I don't see another run happening anytime soon as marquees don't wear out as fast as CPOs and side art.
