Who runs their games on Tokens ?

couldnt have said it better myself.. i also LOOOOVE th esound of a game coining up and that coin dropping in there.. its effing sweet!!

i used to use several small baskets for token storage but that was lame..

i now have a old rowe changer supplying the tokens.. its a old one that also took dollar coins.. the computer and acceptor were shot.. so instead of fixing it, i just wired the coin solenoid linkage open, then wired a puchbutton switch to the hopper motor.. I mounted the switch inside the changer door so that when you press doen the dollar coin reject lever it presses the button and makes it spit tokens.. not as nice as i like(ideally id make every press pay out 4 tokens) but bieng i wanted thething just to spit tokens and be happy with it partially finctional i hacked it that way, the only way i could think of...

I bought .800 tokens and strongly advise against them.
The mech is a dedicated one and seems very finicky to me.
They also seem too much like dimes... just not a quarter feel.
I exchanged the .800 for .900 and am very happy with them.
Besides, the local game places use them too... :D

Thanks guys for all the info !

And thanks for the walkthrough on how to modify the 25 cent mechs cadillacman .

The main reason I wanna get my games on tokens is for when friends and their kids come over I don't have to worry about making sure the games have credits , I just turn them and thats it .

yep.. that and.....

when i used to run quarters, they woudl magically walk away a little at a time..

now they do walk away sometimes, but they come back eventually :D

i would love to edit my posting but now i cant because if i do i have to ditch a bunch of pics adn screw that

I love the sound of the coins going through the machine to get you that credit.

I run all my machines on tokens.. Yes they sometimes get jammed not a big deal. My youngest nephew loves stuffing the token slots. At 2 years or so he's too young to really play the games quite but stuffing tokens makes him happy.

The other advantage of running off tokens/coins is the ambiance is a lot better. More attract sounds and attract modes (rather then just sitting on a "FREE PLAY" screen).

Where do you guys buy your tokens? I'm thinking of getting some 25mm (.984) for my gameroom.

Do you usually get a random variety of originals or new custom made ones?

I lucked out. Shortly after I got my change machine a guy in my town put 2400 tokens on craigslist for cheap. :)

when i saw you push the button on it in one of your videos I immediatley figured out you did this, and planned on doing the same myself!

I was thinking that it would be good to run my jukebox on tokens... For when i have guests and shit... That way one person doesn't queue up a bunch of songs and hog the thang.

Instead, they would have to come for me to get a token, that would play say 3 songs....
