This thread serves as the "who repairs what" list for the forum.

Nobody on this list is "authorized" or "endorsed" by the forum or the IAM. Do your research and check the feedback on anyone you wish to contact about board repairs.

  • Any post by members that are not listing repair services will be removed.
  • Any post by members that do not list city and state in their profile will be removed
  • Members with negative feedback will be removed from this list until such time that they resolve the issues.

When listing keep it to this format: A short paragraph on who you are, a list of boards you repair, and requirements for people to send you items to repair.

For example:
Hi I'm John Doe and I've been repairing boards for umpteen years. I can do thru-hole and surface mount repairs and I repair

  • Board 1
  • Board 2
  • Board 3
  • etc

Use this form when sending me repairs. Contact me before shipping.

With that said, let the posting begin!

My name is Steve Wingert - aka modessitt, mod, whatever - and I've been working as a repair tech for an Austin sales/service shop for the past 8 years specializing in arcade videos, pinballs, jukebox, and slot machines. I've seen a wide variety of games over the years, and can fix most anything if I have the entire game handy (assuming parts are handy).

I am known mostly for monitor repairs. If I have the entire monitor (tube/yoke/chassis), I can usually fix any model as long as parts are available for it.

I do repair-by-mail on the following monitor chassis for $50 + parts + shipping:

Electrohome G07-CBO
Electrohome G05-802
Wells-Gardner V2000
Wells-Gardner K4600 all models
Wells-Gardner K4900 standard-res models only
Wells-Gardner K6100
Wells-Gardner K7000 standard-res models only
Wells-Gardner K7400
Wells-Gardner K7500
Wells-Gardner U2000
Wells-Gardner U5000

I can obviously repair a lot more than this - including other monitor models, power supplies, some PCBs, etc - but I am not offering those services at this time.

I have repaired chassis's for a lot of members, even though my feedback is low and there is no mention of me in the feedback thread. If you need confirmation, you can always start a thread asking about it.

PM me if you need any of these monitors repaired, and I'll give you instructions on how to send it to me.

And YES, I can ship them back to you safely... :)

My name is Ken Graham - aka Yellowdog. I repair Williams Classic video game boards. I've been doing this for a few years now. I don't normally work on the games that Williams licensed (Make Trax, Moon Patrol, etc.) but have been known to from time to time on time available basis. Classic Williams boards include an MPU board (aka CPU board), a ROM board, an I/O board (aka widget board), sound board and power supply board. I work on all of these.

Classic Williams Boardsets (4 board set + power supply)
Defender
Stargate
Robotron
Joust
Bubbles
Sinistar
Splat!
Blaster
Mystic Marathon (2 board set + power supply)
Joust II (3 board set + power supply)
Turkey Shoot (2 board set + power supply)
Inferno (2 board set + power supply)

Please PM me with any questions.

Thanks.

Hi I'm Adam aka ajcrm125. I do digital design for IBM full-time and have been repairing arcade games for about 12 years.

While I have fixed all sorts of games in the past I've found I can be much more efficient in my repairs if I reduce the number of board types I repair. So these days I've been focusing mainly on all things Nintendo. I will typically send you before and after videos as proof of the repair or even better.. toss it on YouTube for other KLOV'ers to see. (http://www.youtube.com/user/ajcrm125)
That being said... I currently work on:

Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr
Donkey Kong 3
Popeye
Punchout!
Super Punchout!
Mario Bros

This list will most likely expand into other Nintendo boardsets as well so if you don't see your Ninty listed here.. just ask!
Prices and other info here:

PM me with any questions.
Thanks!

My name is Chris, and i repair the following -

MCR 3 board stacks
Baby pac and Granny and the gators Vidiots, mpus and solenoid drivers as well as compatible pcbs from other machines.
Nintendo VS
Nintendo Punch-out
Galaxian
Galaga
Track and Field
Hypersports
MCR satellite pcbs - Cheap squeaks, EDOT light sequencers, Spy Hunter lamp drivers, absolute position sensors etc.

On most stuff i'm willing to trade 2 clean non-working pcbsets for one working. PM me for rates and turnaround times. I do my best to turn around your stuff as quickly as possible.
Also, i usually keep some spares of the above for sale, so if you need a pcb outright there's a good chance i may have one.

Edit - i'm always looking to expand what i repair. If you have at least 3 of a pcbset that you'd like to exchange, and are willing to wait a bit so i can build adapters and source parts i can probably help you out provided that it doesn't have lots of customs, or surface mount pcbs.

I've also been known to repair monitors locally - G07's, 4900's, ez20's, 4600's etc. Generally i keep those local, as i would rather have the whole monitor so i can test guns etc while i have it.

My name is Raymond and I started with reparing arcade boards back in 87 when in college. I'll do surface mount rework/reflow and thru-hole board repairs.

I repair an eclectic mix of boards:

Neo Geo MVS/AES
Pac Man and variants - Ms, Plus, Jr, and Super
Galaga/Galaxian
DK/Jr/3 - 2 board sets, not the 4
Konami Classic - T&F, HS, Hyper Olympics, and many others of that era
Konami JAMMA - Just about everything except sound hybrid module issues
Taito - Bubble Bobble, F3 systems, etc...
Sega - System 16/24/32/STV/NAOMI and more
Atari - Centipede, various JAMMA boards
Phoenix/Pleaids
Capcom - Phoenix CPS1.5/2 and pre-CPS boards. Repair many except CPS1 A and CPS3 systems

If I can hook it to my testbeds, I'll give it a shot and if I ever get time to get the hang of the Kurz Kasch testbed, a start working on a bunch of old B&W games. But: No vectors. No monitors.

The repair request form on my website (downloads page) must be in the box with the board (1 per board) or they won't be repaired. Contact me to see when I can work it in or if I'll work on it if it's not on the list. Boards with excessive physical/electrical damage or attempted repair damage will cost more.

Currently Booked solid for the next few months. 2/9/12

Well, I'm Kevin Moore.

I've been working on Atari Vectors for about 3 years now. Specialize in Tempest repairs. But can work on other Vectors. Turn around time varies but I try to keep it within 2 weeks.

Tempest
Space Duel
Asteroids
ADeluxe
Gravitar
Star Wars
Black Widow
Etc

I do my best at getting your game running, and keeping it running. I'm sure you've seen the posts about how temperamental Vectors are. I guess that's why not many people work on them.

Those boards with bad AVG chips I recommend you order directly from wysiwyg2 http://www.biltronix.com/BXAVG.html I don't replace them because of the price, so if yours is bad I'll let you know or you can bite the bullet before hand.

Your best bet is to PM me about Turn around Price.

Hi i'm Mike from TwistyWrist Arcade. I dont do alot of repair work anymore due to time constraints, however I still work on Pac and MsPac boards. Typical turnaround on repairs is 2-3 days plus transit time. Average cost on a Pac/MsPac repair is $20-$40 labor plus return shipping.
I can be contacted through private message here or through the contact link on my website.

Mike here......from Cincinnati, Ohio.
I'm a jet engine designer by day and work on board repairs in my free time.

I've been repairing Atari vector boards for nearly a decade and have rigs for :

Lunar Lander
Asteroids
Asteroids Deluxe
Battlezone
Red Baron
Space Duel
Gravitar
Black Widow
Tempest (although I'll defer to Talon2000's expertise)
Star Wars

Occasionally I will stray to the older Atari B&W games and Missile Command.

KLOV private message is the easiest way to reach me.

Probably not a lot of demand here for it, but no harm done, right?

So you just got off the phone with Chad, and he said he can fix your machine if you send him the "chassis"... but what the hell is a chassis? And what's this big red wire? This thing can kill, can't it?

Hi, I'm Ben. I live in Menasha, WI and have four years of experience doing all kinds of troubleshooting and repair on a wide variety of video and newer electromechanical games, and now I'm trying to get into doing housecalls in the Fox Valley and surrounding areas.

Your machine stopped working and you just want it fixed? I'll do everything that needs to be done. Diagnosing the problem, ordering new parts, sending boards out for repair, installing the new parts, I do everything and wrap it all up in one final charge so all you have to do is make one payment to one person and get your machine working good as new.

I particularly specialize in PC-based games, and my knowledge and expertise in hardware compatibility frequently saves a lot of time and money by substituting a compatible off-the-shelf part. However, I'll take a crack at anything, even if it's an old EM jukebox, and my technician's intuition has yet to fail me. If I cannot fix it, there's no charge.

You can reach me at [email protected]. If you'd rather speak over the phone, send me a PM for my phone number. I'd rather not have my personal cell number on a public webpage; I hope you understand.

Hi, I'm Phil from the UK.

I repair most arcade game boards from the late 70s up until the mid 90s.

Note: I ONLY repair game boards - not PSUs or monitors.

Feel free to PM if if you live in the UK or elsewhere in Europe (also happy to repair boards for folks in the US, but I'd recommend people like channelmanic as your first port of call if you're US-based).

Hi I'm Brian.
I just started repairing centipede/millipede boards in late 2011. Since then (5 months) I've been buying broken boards off ebay and repairing them. I've repaired about 10 or so since.

I've also designed and documented a centipede single ROM hack
http://www.paladingrp.com/brianb/board_hacks/centipede/centipede-single-rom.html

I do "swaps" where you send me your complete non-working board and I send you a working board.

Process is as follows
1) Contact me first, I'll verify I have working stock of the board you want, I will ask you to send me a close up picture of your board to ensure it's repairable and not a completely trashed board. (ie serious physical damage or serious rust)
2) If your board is in decent condition, and I have working spare, I'll have you ship me your complete board
3) Upon receiving it I will test it (to ensure it's actually broken, and not a power supply/cabinet problem)
4) You paypal me the payment and I will ship you a working board.

Price for swap of COMPLETE board is $80 shipped back to you in USA (you must also ship me your board at your cost)

Please contact me via email as I don't check the forums regularly.
Email: atari@<remove_me>paladingrp.com

I can accept incomplete boards, but there is additional expense for the missing components. Let me know if your board is incomplete BEFORE sending it.

-brian

I am temporarily declining new monitor repair work until I catch up on the backlog caused by issues with my real job. If I have already okayed work and sent you my address, go ahead and send it. Otherwise, I'll let y'all know when I've caught up...

Konami Viper RTC repair

Hi my names chris and I repair konami viper board rtcs.
If you have the RTC error on a viper board set your in luck. I've finally figured out the RTCs for the konami viper board sets. Some only work with certain burners. I am offering a service to socket ( if needed) the RTC on the PCB and replace the RTC. My codes have been dumped and tested on actual hardware. The only ones I can't test so far is silent scope x or silent scope fortune hunter. I don't have the filter board for it.

Other services will become available at a later date.

PM me for prices on services for each game listed here... http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=584
