Anyone know who repairs tempest boards? I have two that need fixing. I have pm'd two klov members, one which said he is to busy at the moment and the other hasn't returned my pm's.

And before someone volunteers me, I'm the guy who didn't respond.

Sorry about that, btw. I've just been too backed up at the moment, and am not taking on any new work for a bit. You can try pinging me again in a month or so.

Are you able to elaborate as to what is wrong with the boards? Plays blind (game sounds heard but no picture), no sound, bad controls, screwy vector drawing, etc.?

Are you able to put the game in test mode and if so, what do you get?

If you could describe some of the symptoms, maybe someone could help you do some troubleshooting/repairs on your own.

Maybe post on the repair forum on the above?

Andy, put me in the que this spring or summer, i have two boards for you. A star wars and a tempest. No rush on them, their my back up boards.

Thanks guys I had a member here reach out and am sending hen off to him. Next question is who works on neo geo four slot boards? I have four that have issues that I want to get fixed.

My vote would be channelmanic; he's fixed quite a few weird problems with my stuff over the years and NeoGeos are pretty much muscle memory for him at this point. Absolutely solid work on everything he does; couldn't recommend him more highly.

+1. Totally agree with the above statement.

if you're at all handy with soldering, before you send off the Neo Geos, if you have any of the common failure issues you can take a crack yourself.

- audio issues which are usually solved with a cap kit

- dead battery can be replaced, hopefully before it does any damage

- if you have slots that don't work or have trouble, reflow the solder on each of the pins where the physical slot attaches to the PCB. i know it's time consuming and kind of a pain because there are so many and they are small, but i've resurrected a couple of boards this way.
