Ok, I finished troubleshooting the SF, put in a new power supply and a different jamma board and it fired right up. Monitor took several minutes to warm up and come on, but after about 5 minutes it had a bright crisp picture. I figure now that I know it works Ill go ahead and take it back apart so I can strip/paint the cab and replace the buttons/joysticks and cap the monitor. Only thing is I dont know anything about fixing the boards, who is good with them? This one lights up to a blank light purple screen, then after about 10 seconds it changes to a blank lime green screen, then back to purple. Tried it in 2 different cabs just to be thorough.

Not sure who specializes in SF repair specifically, but I had a problem with one of my SF boards coming up with a red screen that turned out to be a voltage issue. I had it set at like 5.1 and it needed 5.5. From the sounds you've probably already messed w/ the voltage, but figured I'd mention it. Plus this is a convenient bookmark for a thread sub, as I've got a CE accel pt 2 that's being flaky as hell, so if someone knows of anyone who specializes in sf stuff I might have to ping them as well.

someone else said that it was probably a voltage problem, but I pushed it to +5.4 with no change, and was scared to go any higher than that. sitting on +5.1 right now.

I read on another board that the +-5 voltages are the only ones that apply to the board, that the +12 primarily goes somewhere else? The power supply I pulled was putting out +5.2, -5.1, and +8.7. I put this one in and its at +5.1, -5.1 and +12.2

reseat the chips. Pull off the top board and put it back on. If it does not work, buy a new one. You should be able to buy a cps2 board for $50 or less. its not worth fixing.

Did it ever work for you? when you reseat the chips, look for bent pins. I suspect your bottom board is probably bad.
