I'm tired of looking at my Omega Race machine and would like the board repaired. It was repaired two years ago by Alex Yeckly of Elektron Forge and now it doesn't work again. I found a bad chip on the board after probing on the board for awhile, but I'm so busy right now I don't have the time to mess with it. Anyone repair these boards? Shoot me a PM.

BTW: This board has zero acid damage.

I can't touch it right now, I wouldn't be ready for these again for months. Can I ask what the problem is with sending it back to Alex? IIRC there were others who fixed these in the past, but you would have to do an RGVAC search.

There were no problems with the repair. I just didn't care for the complete lack of communication. He had the board for months, which he told me he was busy and it would be awhile. My problem was he never confirmed receipt of the board and I didn't hear a word till around 4 months later when he sent me an email invoice. I paid and emailed him back and heard nothing and two weeks later the board showed up even though I only live 2 hours from him. I just don't think of takes that much to send a quick email. I wasn't in a big hurry. I just know how rare a clean omega race board is and was worried the board was lost and I'd have to trash the cab.

Omegaman ? there is a thread around here somewhere.. not sure if he is still fixing them or not.

I've been looking for someone as well with no luck. I posted on vectorlist even and got zero response. I have 4 board sets. Two of them are clean with little or no acid damage. But they don't work. Argh.

Yes I can fix them, and repair will cost less than a new one unless it's really trashed. Send me a PM and a good picture of the corner of the board.

If it's too far gone (or you think it's too cool to do without) a reprOR (board & Riptor's parts) kit will set you back $270 if you transfer some chips (DACs, EPROMS, etc) from your original or $327 for everything all-new (see post 99).
