Who repairs Atari Games Area 51 Maximum Force PCBs?

Yes like Mecha said Arcade Service in Indy. Mike there is former Midway tech and has worked for others in the Industry.

However if you explain the issue you might not need their help and we might be able to answer it lol. I just recently wasted money sending them a max force/area 51 combo board because I thought for sure the gun ICs were bad because the guns would not work on the edges of the screen and the monitor looked nice and bright. They found no problem what it ended up being was the caps in the monitor chassis. I had two makvision tri-sync chassis one with new caps one with original caps and no matter what I did and even though it was working and had a pretty good bright picture the one without new caps would not work right with the guns, I recapped it and worked great.

the R3000 is what I think the later revision boards are, the single board with no available schematics. I reclaimed one of my Area 51s like this, it has a sync issue. which happened on the game at work last year. I think it was sent to Arcade Services on Monday and we got it back fixed by Thursday. it was wild

Thanks guys.

The board keeps resetting. Video is scrambled. It makes garbled game sounds.

Eh unfortunately on those everything is surfaced mounted maybe like 2 or 3 socketed chips and probably not them. So yeah they are the best bet.

For graphic corruption, Op will need to reflow the 2 Jaguar chipset chips - Tom and Jerry. If parts of RAM are missing from the memory map you'll get corruption, but it's on specific graphic elements, not across the whole screen.

There are built-in self tests if they believe there are RAM issues. I wrote a troubleshooting doc on the CoJag hardware. It's out on the PLD Wiki and covers those self-tests and what they don't test.
