Was just watching some Peter Hirschberg vids on youtube - and the impression is that this is some internationally famous guy. Never heard of him. Who is he? Tom Brazil plays Battlezone at Luna City!!

I know he is active on the Atariage forums and is known for having a ton of rare brazilian atari crap (because he lives there)

No other stuff I am aware of.

OK, so I read that the Atari 2600 Pacman is really great. But what self-respecting person would claim such a thing? The next thing I'm expected to swallow is that ET was a fantastic Atari 2600 game....in Borneo? Maybe the Chuckwagon game by Purina dog chow was a big hit in Egypt?
Rant: There are many that say ET was what broke Atari's back - but when it started with Defender - the flashy blinky ship, flashy blinky ppl on the ground and no explosion graphics. That's kind of where the beginning of the end commenced. From there it went down hill with an unplayable vcs version of what we all felt disappointed with in Pac-Man. From there we were deluged with everybody and their brothers bad games. And finally Atari joined them with the worst possible game ever ET.
Sorry but for anyone to say that the vcs 2600 version of Pacman was a great game is just...just...too graphic to describe.

This is why I don't post on the atariage forums much anymore, this is the 1000 times a year discussion over there. Never dies.

ET isn't too bad though if you learn the "cube" world structure.

I played the crap out of ET back in the day for the 2600... I used to love it.
Of course I was only 10...

UK Mike on the RetroGamingRoundup podcast is another PacMan 2600 apologist. But he also thinks that Space Invaders 2600 was a terrible game so his opinion really shouldn't count ;)
