Who has rented storage space, how big, what is the monthly rate???

I've come to the realization that I need a little extra space right now until I make some other arrangements with some of my games and parts so I'm getting some storage that is only a mile from my house...

Interested in what sizes others have and what rates you pay....
I've seen a 10' by 10' for around 88.00...of course I know you can get a little bigger but I'm thinking of getting something for around 8-10 games just to give me some room in my garage to work on some projects to get them cleared out or finished....

I'm interested to see if the locations determine prices or if they are pretty standard across the country...

i pay 69.00 for my 10x20. no electricity either but i love it. i think i have about 15 games in it plus a bunch of monitors.

if you get one watch out for puddles that dont drain and sit in front of the door.

i was paying 39.00 for a 10x10 but it had an outlet that worked and a bulb on a timer for nighttime activities. i made a deal with the storage company. i have to rent from them for a year but i can move to a smaller unit if i want to downsize.

the 2 other storage facilities nearby are just slightly more dough and they all have power. i can throw a frisbee to my unit in 3 good throws so i like the closeness even though theres no power in it. i have a floodlight that plugs into my cigarette lighter for when i cant see.

Just park your car outside and use your garage. It will motivate you to take care of those projects. Once you head down the storage unit path, it takes a long time to get away from it.

10x20 - $135/mo - access gate with camera - light inside controlled by light switch on wall - in town 2 minutes from my apartment.

I could get it cheaper by going a lot farther away, so I pay for the security and convenience...

This is the very reason I've resisted for so long...problem is I need to make room in the garage to work there...winters here are way to cold to have the door open with games in the driveway...

I'm pretty much just doing this until we figure out where we are living...we are in process or either buying another house or adding onto the one we have....that will determine my future plans of when and where I have my arcade building constructed..

The 88.00 is actually two combined units inside so the water shouldn't be an issue...however there is no power...I do have an outlet nearby though and they have pretty much said if you use its no big deal even though you not supposed to...

I really don't need power for most part but the convenience would be nice...and for that much money seems shitty to have no power..but for now it will likely have to do..perhaps motivate me to get this stuff moved and organized quicker.

5'X10' is $33.00 /Month here in my area. Had to obtain storage not for the games (yet) but for "Staging" our house since it's newly listed on the market.

I have a 10x10 climate controlled space that's about a mile from my place. It costs me $115 a month. I live just about 30 mins north of Seattle

10 x 10 I had was 59 a month no electric. I now have a 10 x 35 for 95 a month with the same storage place.

Looks like Im paying too much

10x20 with no electricity for $150/month. $10 of that is mandatory burglary insurance (straight profit as that place is like Fort Knox and is in a good part of town). I could have gotten something cheaper but the units would have been crammed too close together to maneuver a truck in there.

I pay $80.00/month for a 10x15 with no electricity.

I share this space with another collector, so my split is $40.00/month and I can store about 10 games in my "half" and tons of parts, extra monitors, etc.

I have actually gotten two small projects completed since renting the unit simply because I can move around in the garage now. That, in itself, has made it worthwhile.

I still have 3 machines stored in my garage as well that I can work on "as I have time".

P.S. This is in North Florida.

I pay $108/month for 10x15 that im moving out of by the 15th hopefully if my short term contract allows. I had 13 games in it at one time with some other garage stuff. Ive sold off 7 of the games and down to 6 which i can manage back at home. Everything i have left is what im keeping and going to finish restoring.

Im moving my stuff to my brothers garage which is closer to me and about 75% cheaper with electric!

I pay $70 a month for 10x10 a 10x15 is $95 a month. The first place I tried, it was $170 a month for a 10x15 but they had 1 month free, so I used the time to find a cheaper place. No electricity but I have my hurricane generator there now, so power is only a pull or two away. I think I had 13 in the 10x10 at the peak. I'd love to get rid of what is left and shut it down. Anybody want some project cabinets????

$150/month for a 20 x 20 space of which I am using apporx 30 x 50 of!
I officially rent an area of space in a large open area, but the landlord told me I could use as much as I need as long as I'm not in anyone's way... Sounds good, but is a mighty dangerous thing! It has lights and power and the bowling alley upstairs has food and drink (if it comes to that). Its not heated, but even in the dead of winter (which can be ___ cold here in CNY - single digits during the day) its still warm enough to work in thanks to the residual heat from the rest of the building. It also has a wide overhead door and a loading dock :)
