Who has read/bought/got a copy of Jomacs "Ultimate Monitor Repair Guide"

I own the 'monitor madness' which includes many newer monitors.

The information is ok at best. There are some better troubleshooting guides/flowcharts/etc at arcarc.xmission.com.

There are a few monitors in the guide I had a very hard time finding any information for, however. It is hardly comprehensive, but there are some good articles/etc.

It is worth reading at some point, but not worth the $60, IMO. You would be better off getting a yearly subscription to the tech forums for an extra $19.

Just wanted to give Joey a kudos bump....he more than graciously helped out about 5 years ago via e-mail on a NANAO KZ-20EN that was a head scratcher. It had been plugged into 120v and of course blew it, and even though the ONE component that failed was not one any of us would have thought of it was, it was Joeys troubleshooting technique that led me to it.

Still have those e-mails to this day. ;)

I think that is about what my review would be like too! I too have the same package! I only really wanted Jomacs but the price was equal!

Do you have the subscription?

I'm Nanao only so it makes things awkward!

I've sent a 2931 to Joey twice that he swears works yet it doesn't work for me and someone who just tried it on about 6 other tubes...

Just bought the Combo pack they have on special. it's all three monitor books about 300 pages of info.

Most of it's pretty basic but there's some good stuff in there and it covers a ton of chassis.
Now if there were just a cheat sheet for the DX-500's and the well 9200's I'd be even more happy.

Think it was 69.00 total for all of it.

Solid info though.
