If you do find one expect to pay over $100 for it, they're hard to come by. If you're just looking to make the housing, it would be pretty easy to make your own out of sheet metal.

I agree. They used car players a lot, with its own 12 volt power supply.
All you'd need is a right angle bracket. I'd go with 1/8" aluminum, bend it 90 degrees and then cut the hole for the unit. Drill the corners and saber saw, or if you have an angle grinder, cut your hole with that.
I know there are probably a few guys out there that have come up with new technology to substitute the old 8 tracks for some of these EM's. But face it though unless your game still has an original setup days and future comings are making it harder to find these. Those of you that are in the position to buy 8 tracks used.. Buy em up because 8 track players & tapes along with parts for them are going to be challenges. If just one guy out there can come up with a easy simple plug & play device or added sound board that works with any title would be epic. Sound MP3's can always be obtained and added. Not sure if there are enough people here with EM's to master such a task?
