Who got the Vs. Chip lot on ebay?

vs chips lot

I also shot a bid in but after it rolled over 500 I was out. If the winner is a KLOV member, I would definitely be interested in buying a few of the sets / daughterboards if interested. Shoot me a pm if you want to make some of that grand back.

Ditto on that! I saw quite a few multiples in there as well, so hopefully a few more chipsets will make their way back into the games of collectors!

Vs Chips

I saw Duck Hunt, Ice Climber, Hogan's Alley, SMB, Golf, Excitebike, Gumshoe, a few daughterboards with chips, about 5-7 CPUs, and 10-15 extra PPUs. Would have loved to won this lot, could have been a lot of fun.

I saw that and a shocked by the thousand dollar end price when there was not itemized list of titles and parts. I bet the seller was happy. Hope the buyer got some good stuff out of it.

What am I missing here?

Step 1: Get a ROM burner
Step 2: Get a copy of MAME?
Step 3: Profit?

Honestly, let me know what you guys saw about that auction that led you to believe it was worth big bucks? Is is the lack of titles listed that created a "mystery box" vibe or something?

lot

yeah, the last i saw , it was at 405.00 i was shocked to see it at 1000.00 plus. my 300.00 bid wasnt even piss in the bucket on that one!!!

Well actually is it worth the $1000 price tag - IF 90% of it works. And even then it's gonna be a long time and alot of sales to recoup that cost. Based on the cards I identified and the chipset boxes that actually contained chips, total value could approach $1500. You can easily read all the PPU's in the boxes, and no, there's nothing rare or special in there, just the usual suspects.

I threw my hat in the ring, but $1000 was way more than I can put out. Although the first day I appraised it as such and figured that's where it would go. Now if the buyer thinks the empty boxes in back actually contain chips, there could be serious problems, though it's obvious they're empty (to me).
