Who else here uses an iPad to browse the forums?

I use a Motorola Xoom. Works perfectly, just as any other tablet would, I guess. It's about the best device I could think of for browsing in bed.

I use the Ipad at home and iPhone at work. I've got the tapatalk app, but still prefer to use the real site. Just looks and feels more real I guess.

Another IPad user here. I bought a used older one when the 2's came out. Love the fast boot time compared to the laptop. I'm not an app junky, so I've just got the must have Angry Birds and a few apps I'm trying to get to stream non IPad formatted videos off my NAS.

Thanks, but it looks like another one that needs server software to run on a PC. I need one that will feed the files off a NAS box with no software other than on the IPad.

I use the Atomic web browser to navigate through here and on the web. I just never even considered the "Tapatalk" app, as I want/expect the full browser experience. I suppose that I shouldn't knock it without trying, huh? The customization available on the Atomic browser just "SEEMS" better than Safari to me. You can set it up so that the task bar is hidden so that the entire screen is dedicated to the page you are browsing. The lack of flash and the inability to view YouTube videos outside of the YouTube app (with the exception of embedded videos) are my two biggest gripes, but overall, this is SO much more comfortable than sitting in an uncomfortable chair at a desktop.

Of course, I am typing this from the comfort of my bed...

I always use my iPhone to view the forums and it's great! I don't have to bring my laptop when I go on vacation or on the go. I have the photobucket ap that I use to post pictures and it works great with the iPhone I just take a picture with my phone and send it to my photobucket ap ,copy the link and get those nice big pictures on the forum.

iPad at home (wife took over my desktop) and on the go, at work the company's desktop....:D
I'll have to check out Tapatalk....I get pop ups suggesting it on a few forums I frequent.

I use my iPad for just about everything anymore, including this. Computers are a hassle. Things break, you have to wait for them to start.... iPads are also super nice for schematics and arcade manuals.

I have been thinking about an iPad mainly for bringing up manuals and schematics "in the field". I recently got one from work and tried it out with some PDFs from the arcade archive. I used Safari / iBooks and had no problem viewing any manuals. Even Atari's 14MB "The Book" loaded without any problems.

However, the device choked whenever I tried to view any schematics packages. For instance, the Star Wars package is about 2MB, but it took forever to load in Safari. It downloaded quickly so it is not a connection issue. Once it loaded in Safari after many minutes, I tried to open it in iBooks and scrolling through it was a slow painful process.

Has anyone else run into this issue?
