I just fried a new "A" board by hooking the +12 up to the -12. POP! The board works fine, but without sound. I need someone to repair the audio section. My guess is that it needs a couple caps and maybe the audio amp replaced. Anyone up for the task?

Huh?

They don't use -12v and arcade switchers don't output that. They are +5, +12, and -5. What power supply are you using?

Also, it's pretty simple to replace an audio amp chip. That is simple soldering.

I use the 25 Amp switching power supply from Bob Roberts.

Maybe I should just find a source for the amp and do it myself I guess.

Thanks!

take some pics... you should try to fix it yourself... i suspect some bad caps and mabye a fried audio ic, a popped trace, mabye hopefully nothing else... will be much more cost efficent for you to fix it yourself if possible...

for what youll have in a professional repair you could just buy a new board..

ALSO is the volume pot accidentally turned down from the factory?? You have on screne volume, but theres also a coarse volume adjustment on a pot on the board itself...

Since I "assume" there are no schematics for this board. I would "assume" the audio amp took a hit.

Replacing isn't that hard but finding it might be.
