I have two small fire department logos that I need to vectorize so I can stick them on some fire axes for a retirement dinner I'm doing. Any ideas? I have looked all over the city I live in.

I just wanted to say thank you to Member etiennodk for the vector work he did for me. He was fast did a good job and was very helpful. I was able to take the art that he had done and have it laser etched into Axes for a retirement dinner. The retired firemen loved the artwork. Thank you for your help friend! And good Job!

what's the process for this? do you guys just draw out the shapes with the photoshop pen tool or is there a different method/different software?

Photoshop is actually a pretty crummy tool for vector work. I cringe whenever I see someone trying to use it for that. Much better to use the right tool for the job, which in the Adobe suite means Illustrator. There are free options as well like Inkscape, but they aren't nearly as full featured.

Need Help Generating Artwork

I have a rare game that no one has barely seen, yet alone has artwork for it. The manufacturer is a European company, and they are in the process of going defunct, with no old stock.

I need cabinet decals but have never scanned, vectorized, printed, etc before. I want to finish the restore on this game asap.

I live in the Houston TX area....anyone interested in helping me get this done? PM if you can assist.

I scan artwork. Just don't know when I am going to be in the Houston area. Maybe within the next 2 weeks. I've been working on vectorizing but I'm very much an amateur at that right now..

I bought a hand scanner after reading another thread here. I plan to scan this weekend and will let everyone know how it comes out. Thanks you the extensions of offers to help....I will probably be looking to take you guys up on them!!!

They dont look that dificult, but without the originals here to make a physical comparation it will be hard to know if its right

I can vector this, and then someone needs to compare a print of them (on plain paper) and get it perfect in that way

after that it should be printed on cardboard as far as i can Judge

so..

Thanks for taking a look. I have the originals and could do fine tuning, just not proficient enough in Illustrator to take on the whole job. Or I could send the originals to you.

Getting the printed would be another matter. I think some have approached TOG and/or Phoenix but not sure of the answer.

I assume you are in the US, and if you dont mind shipping overseas, i can do the vectorjob.

but based on the scans, i can make a pretty good baseline.

like i said, maybe its good that i do them, and then send you the Pdf's, print them on paper and compare.

let me know the differences and finetuning can begin.

i think thats easier than shipping the stuff overseas, but again if you dont mind, its fine for me ;)

maybe a stupid question, but for what game is it ? then i can rename the folder the scans are in now :D

I see you write that you are "not proficient enough in illustrator" i assume because you state that that you have illustrator there ?

if so, which version? then i can save as that version, and you can just print them on letter format (or whatever standard you guys use, we use Metric and A4/A3/A5 etc. standards).

there is a option in illustrator to print them to actual size in tiles:

I used that on the Crazy kong sideart that i am working on ;

take a look here if you are interested:
