Cool ... thanks!

Grabbed it from an operator down here and was going to re-purpose the white balltops in my Crazy Climber. Later, decided against it when I scuffed all of the white paint off the sticks trying to bring them back to life. At some point, I may work on them again and hit them with some Krylon Fusion White.

Control panel still useable if anyone needs it. Space Dungeon is not on my list of must-haves. :)

Before you paint them, try polishing them first.. or retrobrite'ing them. That way you restore the plastic and not just paint over it... and if those dont work, then you can still paint them!

That is pretty much what I was trying to do to them when I quickly realized that the fine grit sandpaper I was using to polish was taking off the original finish.

For some strange reason, these Taito balltops have a white baked on finish over a black balltop. As soon as I started polishing, the white finish wore away right down to the black. There is no saving them at this point without a repaint.

Thanks for the advice though ...

I love Space Dungeon. Crazy hard game.

Agreed! Top of my list of unappreciated classics. Once you get the game play down it is a very addicting game, which, as I've mentioned before, isn't obvious when first played. In fact, if you play strictly based on the stated concept of getting the jewels and getting out it is not all that fun -- but if you switch gears and make the goal to visit each room before leaving then it becomes, in my opinion, one of the best most playable games ever made.

User Joseph77 is looking for this. I sent him a link to this thread...

And I agree - Space Dungeon is awesome!
