So today I was working on my concorde 3 (finally got the last part to fix it) when something HORRIBLE happened...

The base fell away from the upper cabinet and the VGA cable was still connected...

It ended up breaking pins inside the port on the board, I tried to desolder it, but my iron is not good enough (nor are my skills up to par)...

So I am looking for someone who can finish desoldering this one and install a new one (which I have been unable to locate) so if you have one laying around that would be great!!

Please PM me with how much you would want to do this, you would be saving my life, my wife loves playing this machine...

Here are a couple pics of whats left...

Just a thought, you could probably rip a socket off an old PC video card, saw one on ebay for $4 shipping included, and like I said I am more than happy to pay for the labor itself, skills don't come free lol!!

That's not a very difficult repair. I can do it if you want but my time table will make the repair fairly slow, I will not be able to get to it for a couple of weeks.

I am looking up the part now...

If you pay for shipping both ways and include the connector I can solder that for you for free. PM me if interested. I can turn it around the next day after I receive it.

I looked it up in my Mouser catalog. They list it as part number 617-09-56-152-7612

Actually just shipped it out this afternoon to Metahugh, I really appreciate everyone's help getting this board repaired!!

Heh... metahugh just wants more stuff to use his new desoldering tool on ;) . I should send you my stack of broken Omega Race boards... you'll be sick of that thing by the time you replace 100 sockets :p .

Got the board back from Hugh today, all I can say is this guy does AMAZING work!! You honestly couldn't tell that a repair had been made, and to top it off he packed it better than I had to ship it back!!
I would recommend him to anyone!!

Thanks again!

I don't blame him...since I got mine I've been using it a ton. It's ridiculous how easy it's made repair. I wish I'd gotten it long ago, would have saved me a ton of headache!

Which desoldering tool are you guys referring to? I picked up a Metcal soldering iron because of a recommendation on here. I love it. I wouldn't mind a good desoldering iron.

Someone recommended the Aoyue 474A+ to me a few weeks ago. So I picked one up since they're very inexpensive.

Lemme tell you...I should have gotten one years ago. It used to take me an hour to remove one old socket. I can do it now in a couple minutes.
