Who can fix or replace surface mount chips? (see pic)

some talk about piercing in the chip to try get more pin visible and solder it.. but succeed this seems so difficult

Props for taking on a difficult repair and succeeding. What did you use to grind down the chip?

Just a mini file, this kinda thing.

I use a dremel tool with a tiny grinding wheel - the same type of wheel used to sharpen blades or grind down metal.

It makes a mess with fine black plastic dust, but works very well. Go slow and patient.

 

[Robotron]

Set up a vacuum so that you can suck up the dust as you grind. It makes a big difference on air quality and cleanup later.
