"Whizzy Wheel" decal remover - good for artwork removal?

I stumbled upon this gizmo and thought I'd pass it along:

I wonder if it might be good for removing artwork like side art from cabs being restored? Though it's meant for use on painted metal so it might be too rough, but I thought I'd post this just in case anyone dares to try it. It goes for like $25 BTW.

I could almost guarantee that gadget wouldn't have put a dent in my Mario Bros wide body CPO.

In other words, I doubt it would phase anything with a poly-carbonate overlay.

Vinyl side-art could be a different story I guess. But then again, it could destroy the paint or laminate under the art.

I'd definitely only try it on metal control panels.

Nope. My brother was in the striping business for 15 years and he used one now and then. It worked alright for 1/2" or 3/4" stripes. But ut was slow and could ruin the paint if not careful. He found it much easier to use heat.

In our restores this would take forever and still need a lot of cleanup/finish work.

Heat gun, putty knife and some CitraStrip or denatured alcohol to remove any leftover adhesive are all you need. I doubt that this would even scratch a CPO.

No, Don't use an eraser wheel for sideart.....we use them in autobody for pinstripes and small decals....but yeah, you get the paint to hot working in an area to long and it's game over....and that's urethane. That would eat right through latex or any weaker substrate.

Yeah this is all what I figured and probably shouldn't have bothered to post it, but I was hoping it might be useful so some kind of job I hadn't thought of or maybe CPOs, but it looks like more trouble than it's worth even for the intended purpose.
