This is a pacland landwith white sides, there does not apear to be any color added to the graffix, this is serial # 407 Should i try and save this game or not?

Its at my house, Florida, I need one for my collection, but this one is a bit rough and i have way to many progects, Looking for input about this machine, keep it or scrap it?

it's not white, it's just so badly sun damaged that the yellow ink on the sides has faded, degraded, and begun to peel off.

Seems you've convinced yourself it is some kind of r@re proto :)

Really look close, that game spent YEARS in the florida sun. no color, why? because blue is the only ink that survived the sun bleaching. The original side vinyl i'd say the same thing. Maybe someone slapped some yellow paint on it to make it yellow again at some point (which would make sense seeing the bolts painted on the front) this game spent a long, long time in the sun which if it lived here on a florida boardwalk is not uncommon.

More than likely they used some leftover wood from the scrap pile when they built that machine. The did alot of scrounging around the time when paclands were built because I have seen many of them with weird stuff like this. Mine has a serial in the low 200's and the sides are regular yellow. They used an old mspac side for the bottom of the cab that had the artwork screening partially done. Its my guess the printing got hosed up so they just recycled the wood.
What gets me about your pic is the sideart is completely faded. There's almost no color at all left to that art. Are you positive the sides are not just faded yellow?

One more thing. Serial 407 is not a low number for pacland. There wasnt many of them made, my best guess is between 500-1k dedicated machines? It was also sold as a conversion package which is why there are plenty of pcbs out there not not so many real machines. If people would actually submit serial numbers for them when I ask I would put up a registry for some of the less common pacs. I would love to see what kind of numbers are out there on the professor pacs, pacland and pacmanias.

Machine in question...

Do you no of any replacement artwork for these? I would like one in better condition but if there were not that many made I guess i would try and save this one, paint code would help, Is it the same as pacman?
