Picked up a white Galaga someone had jammatized with Run Deep in it. Restoring it back as close to original as i can. Started stripping the cabinet, one side is finished.

it's not the same cab as a true Galaga. like Rally-X, it is about five inches shallower, and of course the monitor is turned horizontal.

that being said, there are a few "white Galagas" out there which were factory floor conversions of unused Bosconian cabinets, and include a plastic bubble on the back to accommodate the vertically-mounted monitor.

I just found this in another thread. Nevermind.
Some of the Galaga art was removed accidentally and it says Bosconian.
Looks like you'll have some painting and artwork applying to do. ;)

dont paint it!

the sides are mdf and covered with a special paint that when dry is hard and super smooth (rub your hands on it) you wont get that even if you use a spray gun so once you paint it you will lose it again like the last wally who painted the cab.

i have the same cab here in uk,it was a us import to germany or europe and i imported it from germany to england and it had the same treatment yours had but black spray but it came off easy enough, just time and patience, the most i will do (and thats if i decide to do it) is use a paint pen as it only has a few little dings and scratchs so why paint the whole job lot?

mine had a busted monitor neck and no glass art or the tinted plexi and monitor surround.

so its been stripped of the black spray on the sides, which m,eant i also lost the double artwork,so its got repro which i bought from ebay us,its real nice,i also replaced the front kick art as it has a portion of the top galaga art missing and was showing the bosconian,so now its just all galaga art.repro cpo and its good.

just need a monitor and the glass art 9when i find it) i bought a tinted glass and surround from arcadeboneyard (hes real good sorting parts out/prices etc)

That's not a Galaga, it's Bosconian. A much nicer and less common game.

THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK.

It was a Bosconian, but converted at the factory to Galaga. The back of the Cabinet has the monitor shroud, cause the monitor had to be switched to the vertical posistion. It has double stamped over serial numbers, and it still has some of the cardboard paper stapled in the cab defining it was a Galaga. All signs point towards factory conversion, thus a White Galaga.

Did you see my post after that?, I found a thread that explained white Galagas.

He has no plans to paint it, the one side that is stripped is super nice, but needs touched up in a few places. Overall the cabinet is in really nice condition. Not even the corners need to be repaired. Can't wait till he gets this done.

My point is that you need to read before you make broad statements that show your ignorance. "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, then open your mouth and remove all doubt." Now lets not turn this thread about a White Galaga into a pissing match. :)

Man Jr. Pac is pissing people off all over klov. My be time to back into the shadows as grizz suggested

What does the back look like on this thing? Does it have a plastic monitor 'bubble' on the back panel? My Rally X cabinet supposedly has the same smaller depth as the Bosconian cabinet with a slightly different front profile. It will not fit a horizontal monitor without the frame sticking out the back. Just curious how it works.

Either way, very cool cabinet. It is kind of like the Midway version of the Red Donkey Kong cabinet. :)

I have a 60 in 1 that I believe is in the same kind of cab, although the back does not have the bubble. My Ms Pac cab is much "deeper" than the 60 in 1, and protrudes more from the wall than the MultiCade. Does anyone have the dimensions of the White Galaga cab so I might be able to confirm?

Thanks for posting these pics, MightyArrow. This is the first time I have seen the back of one of the mythical White Galagas. :) Very cool!

It actually looks to be the exact same bubble as they used my Pac-Man cabaret. I imagine they saved a lot of wood on the minis when they used this instead of a deeper cabinet. Both side panels end up just under 4 feet and then fit neatly on one piece of standard 4 x 8 plywood or particle board.

Thanks again or sharing!

mine was a factory converted cab,it actualy had an unopened galaga manual and a card with it,it was attached to the lower part of the back door,it is still there, although i opened the plastic holder and has a skeg through the manual,it was proper minty.
