I'm looking to get a twin racer, and since all of them are much heavier than I though and I"m going to have to dismantle them anyway to get them in the game room, I thought I would ask for your opinions on the following three:

- Daytona USA
- Daytona USA 2
- Sega Super GT

I enjoy all three, and can't really make up my mind on which to go for. So out of these three which do you guys/gals like best?

Thanks for any input.

No replies? (I just found this post)

I'd vote for a twin Daytona 2 myself.

I have played daytona only a few times. Never played the other 2. If you played all 3 and you think game play is the same, daytona 2 is the newest game and might be backwards compatible. Maybe look into which boardset you could buy if your ever fails. I suspect dayton 2 would be hardest to find.

daytona is sega model 2
daytona 2 is sega model 3 step 2.1
super gt is sega model 3 step 1.5

I've never played Daytona 2 before, but I do own some original Daytona USA machines. I can say, the replay value is through the roof. I can play that game anytime and not be sick of it. I've sat for hours before, trying to beat my times and score.

I'd recommend Daytona to anybody.. There is a reason they made so many of them. It is basically the only game I never tire of.

FWIW, Daytona 2 might as well not be a sequel as the car physics are different -- it feels more like Super GT, which is a good game (better than D2).

I love Virtua Racing, but it is not a game you would likely want to constantly play.. Unless you fondly remember playing it or simply appreciate it's aesthetic, I wouldn't recommend one. US-Built twins were also very poorly built.
