I'm buying a cab from someone and have a few options for shipping that are all about the same price. I'm not sure who I should go with, though. The cab is traveling from CA to TX.

R&L
Central
Roadrunner
Daylight Savings
SAIA

I was thinking about going with R&L. Any opinions?

(Wasn't sure which forum to post this in...)

I've used NAVL twice and they did a great job delivering my games in the same condition as received.. I would use them again in a flash!

Any others? Sounds like NAVL is the way to go, but I don't think that's one of my options.

So what are you having shipped and what part of TX are you in? Welcome to KLOV btw..

Thanks. I'm in Spring, north of Houston. I'm buying a New Astro City from CA since I couldn't find anything simliar locally.

dont use central, i've seen them mess up an entire steel die. if i were you i'd read thru some old posts here on how to package that correctly before shipping as there are a couple horror story threads.

I've used R&L and they worked great for me. They palleted a game for me that they picked up and delivered to a terminal near me for $210.

Who are you going through on the cab? There were some Candy cabs for sale locally. Don't know what your price range is but I believe they were listed for about $700 with new Tri-synch monitor. If you are going though Avidcollect / Coinopstore.com I've heard mixed reviews and there are a few threads on here about some of the cabs they've sold.

Yeah it's from Avidcollect. I've done some research, and it seems to be hit or miss. I've emailed the guy several times and he's assured me there's no burn in, rust, broken/missing parts, etc., so I'm going to see how that goes. Most of the time the people that have issues are way more vocal than the others that had no problems and hardly report back on how well their transaction went. Like with R&L, for example, someone was saying don't ever use them because they didn't properly secure his cab and it was smashed up when it arrived, then the guy a couple posts up here said he always uses R&L. :)

Do you remember who was selling the candy cabs with tri-synch monitors? I haven't placed my order yet, but was planning on it later today.

The only other cab I've ever purchased was from Southgate Amusement here in Houston that was a 25" cut-corner dynamo/ex-SF2CE cab with no board for $600 about 10 years ago.. which I also am wanting to get a SF2CE bezel and marquee for. Unfortunately the cp is yellowed from smoke. Sooo, other than having owned several jamma boards over the years, I'm still pretty new to this.

If the CP has plexi on it you can replace that. The Candy cab was on CL and I believe it was a Neo 29.

Avidcollect should be able to ship it out for you. He did one for me

Yeah he's shipping it for me, he just gave me a list of companies I could choose from. :)

Weird, I've been checking CL a few times a day for the past few weeks and haven't seen it on there. The closest thing to a candy I was able to find on there was a megalo50 with a bad screen, which is hardly candy. :) Guess I wasn't using the right keywords for searching.

well he did a great job of packaging it up for me as you can see in the thread. I used R&L on all my shipping needs. When he shipped that game to me he used Fedex Freight.
