I think I've narrowed down the issues with my Q-Bert to the RAM on the PCB at E7 and E10... I tried reseating and cleaning the chips but the pins were so corroded several fell off.

The manual says they're 4801 1K x 8 chips; does anyone know what part numbers are equivalent to those, or what else will work? I saw somewhere that 6116 *might* work, but I have no clue and want to be sure. Thanks a ton!

6116's or 2016's will work in there.

Thats good to know. They must have copied TI's insta-leg-rot technology...copyright infringment. Man I hate those old TI TTL chips. I dont even bother cleaning them anymore, just chuck and replace. I swear you can just breath on them and the pins will fall off.

Awesome, thanks.. I've got the chips on order now. Also, I got the new amp chip in for my Sky Kid today and it now has perfect audio. Thanks for the help on that one!

Some chips don't like the floating pin 23... so you shold tie it off to vcc.

DO NOT DO THAT.

Pin 23 is A8, which is used. You're probably thinking of pin 19 which is A10, that's pull to +5v via R61.

Mark, if you're going to comment at least say something that's accurate and take the time to check your facts.
