Which Pin would you choose of the following titles:

You've played all of those games?

No, I didn't. I said I wouldn't buy any of those. And that is true, good man. :)

Right now I am focusing on looking for 90's Williams only. So, my noobvision is skewed.

But, I look daily.

And why?

Sorcerer
Space Shuttle
Solar Fire
Big Game
Flash
Laserball
Street Fighter II
Firepower II.

I would take any of them for the right price. Actually... I already did 5 times.

It's really a tough call without seeing the price or condition of any of the machines. I have always liked Flash. It's a really high production game so you can usually find them for a reasonable price. It's a fast and fun game for the era but the art leaves a lot to be desired. I like the art but I think I'm the only person on earth who does... and only because it was my first pin and one of my all time favorites as such.

Of the 2 you've listed prices for so far I would say they're both more than I would pay. Especially the space shuttle. That opinion might change if they were REALLY well shopped out but I still wouldn't buy them personally at that price. Mostly because I don't typically buy machines in that condition. YMMV

Solar Fire is one of the harder to find of the magna-save games and a great game overall. Better than Black Knight hands down (I don't really like Black Knight).

Big Game is a widebody Stern game with great art. Gameplay can be slow and it's not really a flow game. Still a cool game. I think the Stern games from this era are very underrated. It was the first game to use 7 digit displays.

Street Fighter II is a decent enough game for the right price. The key there being the right price. Compared to other games from that era, even the gottlieb games, it doesn't hold up. But... compared to what can be a comparably priced older game it holds it's own.

Of the 8 these are the 5 that I've got:
Space Shuttle
Solar Fire
Big Game
Flash
Street Fighter II

If you have specific questions about those games I can try to answer them. The only one I actually have set up right now is Solar Fire.

If you had the prices for all of them i would feel more confidant saying which one i would get

What kinda things do you like in a pin? I think buying based on price and theme alone is not enough it should have the elements you enjoy in a game if it is going to be a keeper.

You know what it is like buying a game based on hype only to discover once you own it you don't enjoy playing it. I know you have rotated our vids that seemed like a good idea at the time.

I think sorcerer looks really pimp and would have one in my collection

Also guys those are the prices the guy is asking not necessarily the price he will end up getting

In all honesty, I continue to read here about how pins are "worth this", or "you should be able to get it for that", but I have never seen pins in my area for cheap. Ever. I had to ship the pin I got because the price was awesome, but after shipping I was right up there with what I probably would have paid if I picked it up somewhere around here.

I wish I knew where to find all the cheap pins around here...

You have to find someone who isn't part of the hobby, doesn't look at the internet all day, or generally just doesn't give a crap and wants a game gone....that usually happens when something's not working or it's super dirty. The local arcade fix-it places charge so much, it just makes sense to most people to just get rid of it.

It doesn't happen often, but it does happen.

-I got a Big Guns at a garage sale for $300...it was the dirtiest friggin' thing I've ever seen but all the electronics were good. After shopping it, it was pretty nice.

-My first pin was a BTTF for $300. Needed some board work...but ended up to be a dependable player for a few years until I sold it. It was owned by an ex-operator who just wanted the room.

-I got a JP for $800 from a guy who just wanted it gone.

-I just picked up a Dr. Dude for $400 from a woman who just had TONS of crap and was moving out of the state...the colors are faded and it's dirty as hell, but again - electronics are good...it'll clean up to at least be nice and playable ...

-My BK2K (which I still have) was $700. The guy had it in his photo shoot studio...he bought it years ago as a photo shoot prop and didn't even play it that much. Had some warped/broken plastics, needed some touchups and flippers rebuilt...not too bad all things considered. Looks and plays great now!

The deals are out there! Just gotta find 'em! :)

I'm so crazy I own pinball machines I haven't even seen yet ;)

Speaking of things you haven't seen yet, I sent you a PM and an e-mail, and am still waiting for a response. Shipping to commence Nov. 2nd - finally....
